Biography

Oleg Aleksandrovich Kuvshinnikov was born on 1965-02-02 in Cherepovets. From childhood he was fond of hockey and even received the category of a candidate for master of sports. After graduating from school in 1982, he went to work as a mechanic at the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant. Worked in the repair shop for coke equipment.

From 1985 to 1987 served in the Soviet Army in the city of Kemerovo, served in the communications battalion. Demobilized with the rank of foreman. Then he continued to work at the plant as a rolling mill operator in the section rolling shop. At the same time, he studied at the Technical School of Soviet Trade, in 1991 he graduated with honors and entered the Trade and Economic Institute of St. Petersburg.

Since 1994, he was a foreman of the section rolling shop, then - deputy head of the production shop. Political career

In 2002, Oleg Kuvshinnikov decided to run for the Cherepovets City Duma. He became a deputy and chairman of the commission on urban economy. Since December 2003, he has been a member of United Russia.

In 2004-2006 served as head of the Severstal social and welfare complex, was a member of the company's Board of Directors. In parallel with this, in 2005 he became president of the Cherepovets basketball club Severstal. In the same year, he graduated from the RANEPA and received a master's degree in business administration.

In November 2006, Oleg Kuvshinnikov took the post of first deputy mayor of Cherepovets, then he was the acting mayor. In March 2007, he became the elected mayor of the city, gaining 65.3 percent of the vote. As a result of the investigation into the incident, Kuvshinnikov was fined five thousand rubles. The mayor repented of his deed and said that he would try not to violate traffic rules anymore. However, on November 13, 2011, he again got into an accident, already driving a personal car. During the accident, he hit the steering wheel and severely cut his right eyebrow.
