Dramaturgy

The first plays and scripts he wrote in his student years. The works of Vasily Sigarev were willingly published not only by Russian magazines (Ural, Modern Drama), but also by foreign publications that translated his works into Polish, Serbian, German, French and English. Another confirmation of the success of the plays was the interest of foreign theater directors, who drew plots from them for their performances.

In 2000, the talent of the rising star was also recognized by his compatriots. Vasily's play Claudel Models was awarded the Debut Prize. In the same year, Kirill Serebrennikov transformed the work into a production that was seen by the guests of the Lyubimovka festival. The performance won several prestigious Russian awards, and the British Evening Standard named Vasily Sigarev the most promising playwright. Movies

Vasily Sigarev considers his plays more suitable for screenplays than theater. His statement that he felt bored during the premiere of the playown story, somewhat shocked fans. The painting and its creator were showered with awards from domestic and international festivals.

Private life

Sigarev is the common-law spouse of actress Yana Troyanova, who played in all her husband's films. The playwright rightfully considers his wife an indispensable muse, because it is she who owns the idea of the plot of the drama "Top". In addition, some of the events in the film take their roots from the real events of Yana's childhood.

Before the fateful meeting, both Troyanova and Sigarev had a sad experience of family life. That is why the couple's plans do not include an official marriage, which, in their opinion, is capable of destroying sincere love. At the moment, the playwright and actress live in Yekaterinburg and do not intend to move anywhere.
