He managed to make unique round-the-world expeditions on a bicycle and a car, raft down the rivers on a catamaran from the highest mountains of the planet, go around the equator, descend underground to a depth of 3.5 km and rise by plane to the level of the stratosphere to a height of 11 km. Over 25 years of active travel, Lysenko managed to visit 195 states, changing more than 10 international passports.
Vladimir Lysenko: early years and passion for sports
Lysenko Vladimir was born in 1955 in Kharkov. His father Ivan Fedorovich was a pilot of the civil air fleet of the USSR, after retiring, he became a correspondent, was a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR, then - of the Union of Journalists of the Russian Federation. The boy's mother, Galina Pavlovna Korotkova, worked as a design engineer. From childhood, parents raised their son's love for sports. ATDuring his school years, Vladimir was fond of sambo, rugby, road cycling, rowing, and was not indifferent to chess. In the 7th grade, he began to engage in water tourism. This sport captivated the guy so much that after a while he began to independently travel in kayaks along the rivers. An active lifestyle did not prevent Vladimir from studying well. The guy graduated from school with a gold medal.
Studying at the institute, scientific activity
After school, Lysenko Vladimir Ivanovich entered the aircraft building department of the Kharkov Aviation Institute. After graduating with honors, the traveler became a graduate student of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk. In 1982, Lysenko successfully defended his Ph. D. thesis, and 20 years later, his doctoral thesis. Today he is a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, works as a researcher at the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. Khristianovich in Novosibirsk.
Family
Vladimir Lysenko, whose photo is presented in this publication, is married and has two adult children. His son Victor was born in 1980. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Novosibirsk State University and now lives in Krasnodar. Vladimir Ivanovich's daughter Svetlana was born in 1983. Like her brother, she graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Novosibirsk State University, after her studies she moved to Moscow, and now lives in Holland.
First rafting from Everest
Scientific work and personal life Lysenko successfully combines with the main passion of his life - travel. passion for themVladimir got it during the period of his active water tourism. Until 1990, he kayaked almost all the big rivers of the Soviet Union.
For several years, Lysenko has been nurturing a dream to make a catamaran descent from Everest along the high mountain river Dudh-Kosi, flowing in Nepal. However, in Soviet times, it was impossible for an ordinary person to leave the country. Vladimir had a chance to fulfill his cherished dream only in 1989, when Gorbachev signed a decree allowing Soviet citizens to travel abroad at the invitation of foreigners. To get to Nepal, Lysenko went to the trick: he met a Nepalese student studying at the Moscow University of Peoples' Friendship and asked him to persuade his brother to send him an invitation to his country. Vladimir's idea was a success, and already in 1991 he went to Nepal.
Down the mountain rivers
Between 1991 and 1996 Vladimir Lysenko made a descent on catamarans along the rivers flowing in the mountains, the height of which exceeds 8 thousand meters above sea level. The brave traveler managed to conquer all 14 eight-thousanders that exist on Earth (Everest, Chogori, Makalu, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Shishabangma, Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I and Gasherbrum II). In addition, he descended on a catamaran from the highest mountain peaks of all continents, including Antarctica.
In 1996, Lysenko set a world record by rafting down the high mountain river Everest from a height of 5.6 thousandmeters. For this act, he was recognized as the most desperate traveler of the Russian Federation. In total, Vladimir Ivanovich managed to go down the mountain rivers flowing in 57 countries of the world. He became the first water tourist from Russia to kayak down from the mountains located in Nepal, Bhutan, China, India and a number of other countries.
Around the world on four wheels
In 1997-2002, a Novosibirsk scientist made a unique expedition around the world by car. His route ran through the extreme points of all continents. During the car run, Vladimir Ivanovich traveled all over the continents in the direction from north to south and from west to east. In total, he covered 160 thousand kilometers, while visiting 62 countries.
Expedition by bike
In 2006, Lysenko went on a new round-the-world trip on a two-wheeled bicycle. On an iron horse, he crossed all of Eurasia, Africa, North and South America, Australia, New Zealand, Nauru and Kiribati. During the trip, the traveler had to cover 150-200 km daily. The expedition lasted until 2011. During this period, Vladimir Ivanovich traveled 41.8 thousand kilometers on a bicycle, visiting the territories of 29 states. The only continent it didn't hit was Antarctica.
Travel along the equator
From 2004 to 2012 Lysenko made a round-the-world trip along the equator. The essence of the expedition was to pass along a conditional linedividing the Earth, deviating from it by a maximum of 2 ° GMT. Vladimir Ivanovich covered huge distances by car, bicycle, motor boat, yacht and kayak. In especially difficult places he had to go on foot. The journey was carried out in several stages and took a total of 260 days. The length of the route was 40 thousand km, of which 35 thousand the traveler had to swim on the water. As part of the expedition, he crossed Africa, Indonesia, South America, the Pacific and Indian oceans.
Circumnavigation around the equator was fraught with many dangers. In Africa, Vladimir Lysenko happened to go through the Congo, where the war was going on. Fortunately, the traveler was lucky, and he did not come under fire or captured. In South America, Lysenko made his way through the territory controlled by the revolutionary army of Colombia. In order not to find himself captured by local partisans, he had to turn to Colombian drug producers for help. They agreed to send Vladimir Ivanovich on their motor boat, saving him from the partisans.
In Brazil, Lysenko overcame the most difficult 90-kilometer route through the deserted jungle. I had to go on foot, cutting my way with a knife and guided by a compass and a GPS-navigator. The traveler repeatedly fell and was injured, but moved forward, because he could not count on the help of people in the dense jungle. Having completed his round-the-world trip along the equator, Vladimir Ivanovich set a world record. Before him, a similar expedition was made by Mike Horn from South Africa, however, not wanting to get into the epicenter of hostilities in the Congo, he was forced to deviate fromequator at 5° GMT. Lysenko in this region has shifted from the conditional line by only 2 degrees, showing the best result.
From depth to height
In 2004 Vladimir Lysenko set another record. The biography of the Novosibirsk scientist was replenished with another unique achievement after he took part in the program “From the bowels of the Earth to the stratosphere”. As part of it, Vladimir descended into one of the deepest mines of the planet "Mponeng", located in South Africa, to a depth of 3.5 km, after which he drove through the whole of Africa by car, crossed Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey and reached Moscow. In the capital, he transferred to a plane and made several ascents to a height of 11 to 16.5 km. For the entire period of the trip, the maximum height difference from the depths of the earth's interior to the level of the stratosphere was 20 km.
TFR Presidency
Vladimir Ivanovich became the initiator of the creation of the Union of Round-the-World Explorers of Russia (TFR). The organization, which appeared in August 2004, includes domestic travelers who have traveled around the globe, climbers and rafters who have visited the highest mountain peaks of all continents, as well as people who have visited more than 100 countries in their lives. The President of the TFR is its founder Lysenko Vladimir. In addition to him, the Union includes more than 40 people, including Fedor Konyukhov, Nikolai Litau, Valery Shanin, Viktor Yazykov, Vyacheslav Krasko.
Vladimir Lysenko: travel books
Novosibirsk scientist devoted a quarter of a century to distant wanderings. Impressions receivedfrom them, he willingly shares with readers on the pages of his books ("Around the World on a Bicycle", "Around the World at the Equator", etc.). In them, he describes his exciting adventures, talks about the dangers that await tourists in distant lands, and gives advice on preparing for travel. Vladimir Lysenko is the author of 5 books published between 1997 and 2014. Each of them is dedicated to his individual expedition.
Traveling around the world requires a lot of time and money, but for a person who wants to see the whole world, there are no obstacles. Vladimir Ivanovich travels mainly at the expense of sponsors during the vacation period. During the rest of the time he is engaged in science. This approach allows the scientist to successfully combine business with pleasure and get the most out of life.
