Ilya Krasilshchik is an experienced publisher of the relatively young Internet resource Meduza. Today he is a successful and cheerful person, whose career path was far from easy and smooth. We will tell you more about his rise up the career ladder, interesting fate, hobbies and life priorities.
Short biography note
Ilya Krasilshchik (his biography is full of surprises) was born into an average capital family of a mathematician on April 10, 1987. Since childhood, he did not stand out in any way and was a moderately mischievous child. Like most of his peers, he graduated from the Moscow gymnasium No. 1513 and decided to apply to the university.
Following his classmates, together with them he entered the Russian State Humanitarian University (Russian State University for the Humanities). It was originally the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Linguistics.
When our hero realized that the exact sciences, like programming, were not his path, he immediately transferred to the Faculty of History and Philology. Ilya Dyer himself says that at that time he really liked the story. Therefore, the change of the training course was painless and promised a lot of changes in the life of a young and promising specialist.
However, due to tooIlya Iosifovich never finished his studies of an eccentric character and omissions. According to the teachers, he was expelled right from the fifth year of the university.
First steps in publishing
Ilya Krasilshchik began his first steps in publishing as an ordinary proofreader in a virtual publication called Polit.ru. At the beginning of 2003, he wanted to create his own online music resource dedicated to Muscience. True, it was amateur, but the number of unique visitors grew day by day.
New musical hobby
Inspired by the first successes, the young man went in search of a new job. This time he decided to try himself as a music columnist. And in early 2004, Ilya got a job at Zvuki.ru, where he gained experience, although he worked quite a bit. In the same year, Ilya Iosifovich went to Yandex, where he was invited to a senior position. But here, too, the young man was not destined to “take root.”
Promising work in Afisha
In early 2005, he was offered to become a columnist for another magazine - Afisha. Who would have thought that this change of job would have a positive impact on his career. So, at the age of 21, Ilya Krasilshchik, unexpectedly for himself, became the editor of the afisha.ru website. A little later, he headed the Afisha magazine itself.
Starting from 2008, Ilya went on promotion and became the editor-in-chief of the publication. From the beginning of July 2013The dyer was removed from his post. He was replaced by Alexander Gorbachev, who had previously acted as his deputy. The Dyer himself took the place of the director for the promotion of the official products of Afisha.
Another change of residence and work
After a while, the Afisha magazine ceased to interest Ilya. Due to certain disagreements in the team, she was forced to leave her post. The high-profile dismissal was followed by an exit from the country. As it turned out, a new fateful turn awaited him. At that time, Ilya moved to Riga, where he became the publisher of the joint Russian-Latvian publication Meduza.
Impressions of Afisha
Despite the fact that our hero has long since left his homeland, he still remembers his once beloved Afisha magazine. According to him, Ilya got a job there as an editor and had to release a new web resource for the publication. That's just the time of its launch, according to the hero, was somewhat delayed. But he managed to get to know one of the founding fathers of Afisha better. It was Ilya Tsentsiper.
Over time, this friendship allowed Ilya to get an unexpected promotion. From that moment he became the chief editor. According to the Dyer, initially it was shock and a kind of euphoria. But then he had to prove his professional suitability not by word, but by deed, which was very difficult. However, our hero is grateful to all the Afisha employees with whom he was lucky enough to work. It was they, and not teachers from his former university, who became real teachers for him. For this he is very grateful.
Change of leadership in Afisha and a slight shock
Since Ilya Iosifovich Dyer literally became attached to the Afisha publishing house, it was hard for him to watch the change of personnel taking place in December 2015. At that time, the management of the company changed. There was a failure of interests, and almost all former employees fell under the distribution (they were laid off and deprived of any job).
This event impressed the hero so much that he wrote a separate article about it. In it, he remembered the once friendly team, felt a little sad and wished good luck to his unemployed colleagues.
Dyer: Meduza
Inspired by the idea of a previous work, Ilya Iosifovich decided to create something similar. However, he never imagined that he could turn the young virtual publication Meduza into one of the most recognizable representatives of the mass media.
Currently, the Meduza project describes various interesting events that have taken place in the world. Here you can find interesting stories from life, non-standard news in the Big Top section, play games, take fun tests, read expert advice on various issues, chat in chat and ask questions to the editors.
Trips and business trips
Despite the fact that at the moment Ilya lives in Riga, he periodically flies to Moscow. The fact is that Meduza's office, including its creative team, is located in the capital of the Russian Federation. Therefore, Ilya often has business trips and trips. It is noteworthy that the hero himself has such a scheduleI like it, because as a child he dreamed of becoming a famous traveler. And even though he did not succeed in fully realizing his plans, he still has the opportunity to feel like a real adventurer.
Family values and marriage
Ilya Krasilshchik and Ekaterina Krongauz are two loving people who are connected not only by marriage, but also by common interests. Like her husband, Catherine is interested in journalism. What's more, she's a practicing psychologist, mother of two, and author of several helpful parenting guides. Together with her husband, they developed a unique service and school for teaching babysitters.
What can you learn at babysitting school?
The idea to organize a school of babysitters arose from the spouses quite spontaneously. At one point, when they needed to leave for a couple of hours, and their nanny suddenly fell ill. And then they decided to come up with a service that can find temporary carers for all parents who want it. Unlike nannies, babysitters do not work for a monthly salary. Basically, these are students who plan to periodically earn extra money.
Babysitters can only stay with their children for a couple of hours. They entertain them, feed them and have fun. In a word, they help out when parents want, for example, to spend an evening together. However, after a long period of testing, anonymous surveys of parents and candidates themselves, it turned out that the babysitters needed additional training.
According to Ekaterina, they needed to know how and how to distract the child. Also imhelp was needed in resolving conflict situations and other problems. The Dyers spouses took up their training.
Currently the Dyers family lives in Riga. They promote the website and the babysitter school, collaborate with the Takie Dela charity portal, and work for Meduza.
