Figure skating fans know the famous Russian figure skater Maxim Shabalin, who paired with Oksana Domnina in ice dancing. Oksana and Maxim have repeatedly become winners of various tournaments, world and European champions and bronze medalists of the Olympic Games. Figure skating
The parents took the child to the figure skating section in 1986, when he was 4 years old. Maxim did not like training, but most of all he did not like to study at home, where his parents forced him to do split stretches and squats on one leg. Until the age of seven, he was taken to the skating rink, and when he began to ride on his own, Maxim began to skip classes. Just walking around the Sports Palace and with a sense of accomplishmentreturning home.
Perhaps he would not have succeeded as a figure skater if his coach, seeing the boy's unwillingness to be a single skater, did not offer him to ice dance. Maxim liked this. He enjoyed these workouts. Maxim had several partners, but these pairs did not make the duet that could win the championships.
First successes
When Maxim Shabalin turned 16, he moved to Bulgaria, where he was invited to be paired with Rita Toteva. After some training, the couple won silver at the championship in Bulgaria. But the partner's he alth problems forced her to leave the sport, and Maxim was forced to return to Russia.
Here, together with Elena Khalyavina, the first awards came. They won bronze, silver and gold at the 2000-2002 Russian Championships. If on the ice the guys understood each other, then outside the rink they had a difficult relationship, which led to the breakup of the couple. Oksana Domnina became the next partner of figure skater Maxim Shabalin. This duet has won the World and European Championships more than once. In 2008 Maxim had 2 surgeries on both legs. But, having healed, Maxim again went on the ice with Oksana at the 2010 Olympics, they took third place. In the same year, they took a time out in performances, suggesting that after Maxim's treatment he would return to the ice, but in October 2010 it was decided to end his ice sports career.
TV show projects
In the summer of 2010, Maxim Shabalin was invited to train the Russianfigure skater team. In the same year, he became a member of the executive committee of the Figure Skating Federation.
After the end of the performances, Maxim Shabalin began to take part in television ice shows organized by Ilya Averbukh.
He participated in "Ice Age" and the show "Ice and Fire". Repeatedly went on a tour of the cities of Russia with demonstration numbers of the show. Currently, he also takes part in Averbukh's projects. In 2018, Maxim and his dance partner took part in a tour of Russia staged by Ilya Averbukh "Together and Forever".
Private life
2010 was full of different events, but the most significant in the life of Maxim Shabalin and Irina Grineva was their wedding, which was postponed either because of Maxim's competitions, or because of Irina's filming and performances. As it turned out, the couple met several times. The first two times the meetings were fleeting, they did not even remember each other, and the third acquaintance was fateful for both.
The couple signed at the registry office on November 20 and immediately got married in the Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God. Due to participation in Maxim's ice show, the honeymoon was postponed.
On July 6, 2013, the couple had a charming daughter, whom Shabalin named Vasilisa. She was baptized in the same church where her parents signed. The fact that the wife is 9 years older than Maxim does not in the least interfere with their relationship. Irina is happy with Maxim and believes that with the birth of her daughterlife filled with much more meaning.
