Pervomaisky Square is a cozy corner for spending free time outdoors in the very heart of the city. Here you will find amazing and unusual sculptures and fountains, wooden benches in shady alleys.

Brief information about the park

But a few years later, in 1935, he decided to add a large fountain to Pervomaisky Square, which would be framed by flower beds and vases. It was from that period that the appearance of the park was constantly changing. On the territory of the square, new bushes and trees were regularly planted, themed flower beds and flower beds were decorated. This wonderful place differs from all the parks and squares of Novosibirsk in that there are a lot of sculptures here. Center of Novosibirskliterally came alive thanks to this green place.

What will surprise the guests of the city square

Despite the fact that the square is small, it has two fountains:

  • main: meets visitors at the exit to Red Avenue;
  • for young visitors, the architects conceived a small fountain, decorated with a sculpture of a bear cub.

Annually, the city hosts a symposium of stone sculptures. From this event, the city received three marble sculptures, which were accepted by Pervomaisky Square:

  • "King and Queen".
  • "Peace".
  • "Love".

Every Novosibirsk citizen has a picture near the "Love" sculpture in his photo album. But that's not all the gifts! In 2000, the Armenian community presented the park with a khachkar - a stone cross made of pink tuff. It was designed by sculptor and architect Aram Grigoryan.

The city's beautification department has decided to place a wish tree in the park. Siberians and guests of the city attach ribbons with wishes written on its branches.

The life of the park changes with every season of the year. In summer, yoga and gymnastics are practiced on the lawns by lovers of a he althy lifestyle, and in winter, cubic meters of pure snow are brought to the territory in order to host the annual Snow Sculpture Festival.

Pervomaisky Square is protected from city noise by the building of the Museum of Local Lore. This is another amazing place to visit.

Most Popularsculpture in the park

As mentioned above, the city annually hosts a festival of stone sculptures. It so happened that the works of the participants after the competition end up in Pervomaisky Square. Novosibirsk thus replenishes its sculptural collections. "Love" belongs to the Novosibirsk sculptor Sand Bortnik. Now, after the classic places for photo shoots (Opera Theater and Nikolskaya Chapel), the newlyweds take pictures at this particular sculpture.

Surprisingly, the townspeople loved this monument so much that Siberians created urban legends and myths about it during its short existence. They believe that if a girl crawls through a hole in the sculpture, then her unmarried position will soon change, and she will find her family happiness. In addition, young people write male and female names on the sculpture. Many believe that such an inscription has a love spell.
