Omsk is a city in the south of Western Siberia, the administrative center of the Omsk region. It is located in the valley of the Ob River, one of the largest rivers in Siberia, in the Siberian forest-steppe zone. The Trans-Siberian Railway passes through the city. Quite developed industry. At the same time, the city is not very suitable for visiting vacationers and tourists, including due to the lack of sufficient infrastructure, bright sights and a small amount of greenery. Most of all, visitors will like the Central District. The population of the city is over 1 million people.

Administrative division of Omsk

As part of the administrative division in the city of Omsk, there are only 5 districts (administrative districts), each of which is located within the city. The city of Omsk is a municipal formation with the status of an urban district.

The districts of the city are as follows:

Kirovskiy. Formed in April 1933of the year. The area of the district is 129 sq. km. The population is 251 thousand people, which tends to grow.
October. It was formed in April 1942. The area of the district is 65.7 sq. km, and the number of inhabitants is 170 thousand people. The population is gradually decreasing.
Lenin. It was formed in August 1930. The area is 153 sq. km. The number of inhabitants of this region is 200 thousand people. and gradually decreases.
Soviet. Appeared on the map of Omsk in August 1930. Covers an area of 103 sq. km. The population is 264 thousand people, and the number of inhabitants is gradually increasing.
Central. Formed in August 1945. It has an area of 105 sq. m. km. The population is 276 thousand people. with negative dynamics.

Most of the districts are on the right side of the river, and only the Kirovsky district is located on the left of it.

Kirovskiy district of Omsk

Kirov District is notable for its low building density and mosaic combination of the private sector, high-rise residential buildings and wastelands. It is also an area of active trade, which has its own history here. But there are almost no entertainment facilities.

Kuibyshev District is distinguished by the absence of enterprises, but at the same time it is replete with cultural institutions.

Soviet District

In the past, this area was called the city of oil workers and was built specifically for workers of local oil companies. Later the town became part of Omsk. There are no chaotic and private buildings here, everything is done as per the drawing, as it was built in Soviet times according tospecific project.

This area is also known as a town of students, as there are as many as 5 higher education institutions. Therefore, there are a lot of young people on the streets and quite noisy. There are also many oil engineers living here. And the presence of an oil refinery greatly worsens air quality with industrial emissions.

Pervomaisky district is sandwiched between the Central and Soviet districts. The environment here is rather bad, which is connected with the work of the Titan enterprises.

Leninsky District

Leninsky district of Omsk is located in the south of the city. It is distinguished by good industrial development. Most of the area is occupied by the private sector. The area is convenient in terms of transport and accommodation; there are shopping and entertainment centers on its territory.

Central District

This is the most important district of Omsk. There are administrative and municipal buildings. Also here are concentrated entertainment facilities and sights of the city. In other areas, all this is practically absent, which is one of the features of Omsk. Here is the most expensive real estate, and the highest gas content. Many people come here every day for work. At the same time, industry in the area is not developed.
