USA, Arizona, City of Tucson, 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Repair Group - this is the official name of the cemetery of all aircraft that have ever served as air pilots in America.

This is the largest official disposal of old aircraft, its territoryunthinkable in area - more than 10,000 square kilometers. It is worth saying that it is impossible to get there without official permission, the territory is guarded by the military.

But next to the base there is an aircraft museum, where excursions are conducted under the supervision of specialists.

History of the American Aircraft Graveyard

This place was not chosen by chance. After the Second World War, the empty Davis-Monten Air Base remained. Low humidity and sufficient elevation above sea level allowed the aircraft to be directly under the open sky without worrying about corrosion of metal and equipment hulls.

The Davis-Monten base itself was founded in 1925 and named after heroes Samuel Davis and Oscar Monten. After 15 years, the base expanded and the preparation of bomber aircraft began here.

There are more than 4,200 abandoned aircraft and fifty space equipment here. More than 80% of the total amount of technology that has found its last refuge here will never again be in the sky. But among them there are those representatives who, if necessary, can again return to military piloting.

Especially for critical spare parts that can be reused: engines, ammunition, wiring, electronics, equipment and more.

In 2005, experts managed to recycle more than 19,000 spare parts, which was valued at more than 568 million US dollars. For this reason, the American deployment of used equipment has a strategic andeconomically important to the state.

Mysterious find in Bali

There are still talks and rumors around the abandoned plane in Bali. The fact is that not a single specialist can give an exact answer when and for what reason the Boeing 737 ended up near Pandava Beach. It lacks any emblems belonging to the airline, and there are no tail numbers of the aircraft.

The aircraft flaunts in the open area and is a local "celebrity" where tourists flock for an additional fee.

The only thing that can be heard from the locals is that a certain owner of this derelict aircraft once planned to turn it into a restaurant to attract tourists. But something went wrong, his business never materialized.

Now this Boeing is on private property behind a fence and guarded.

How a plane became a home for an American pensioner

American pensioner Bruce Campbell became famous for his unusual find and the subsequent result of his "treasure". The fact is that he converted an abandoned plane in the forest (outside the city of Portland) into a living space. Campbell took a serious approach to converting the aircraft into a private home.

In his unusual home, he installed LED lighting, installed transparent flooring, installed stairs, a shower and made other repairs for a comfortable stay in the Boeing727.

The financial cost of refurbishing the plane house was more than $200,000, and it took 10 years of life.

Now Mr. Campbell plans to build another house from a Boeing 747, which is also abandoned and located in Japan.

Kazan Airfield Cemetery

Derelict planes can also be found in Kazan. They are located next to the existing airport. Not so long ago, local youth chose this place of burial of old equipment, making detailed video and photo reports about their stay in this place. All this was published on social networks, luring more and more people to this aircraft cemetery.

In connection with the emerging sharp interest in the abandoned part of the airfield, the local authorities decided to enclose the equipment from uninvited guests with a fence and a warning sign. The reason for this was the fact that entering the cabins and on board the aircraft, the visitor may face the danger of the collapse of any parts of the vessel. And since this is not a sanctioned place, no one can come to the rescue. For the safety of citizens, the cemetery of the Kazan airfield was closed to visitors, and it is now illegal to stay there.

Ukrainian burial of military equipment

Tourists traveling around Ukraine found abandoned planes from the Soviet era. They are neatly arranged in rows and sorted by model. Here you can find legendary models of Soviet aircraft. Aviation technologyextends to the horizon and stands in several rows. Everything is in good condition and whole. The abandoned airfield looks well maintained and is not guarded by anyone.

You can approach aircraft engineering, get in touch with an entire era and fantasize about the history of each representative in this amazing place. The runways are also solid, you can drive a car along them and experience enthusiastic feelings from what you see.

But farther from the base of the abandoned equipment is a batch of L-29 in excellent condition, surrounded by a fence. It is worth noting that there are no runways near the planes, that is, they have nowhere to take off from. Whether there is security there or not, the tourists did not find out.
