The flowering of this plant is an indescribably beautiful picture, because of which it began to be called nothing more than a “flower of fire”. First of all, buds are formed, then burgundy calyx bracts appear. And only after the plant flashes bright red flowers.

It blooms, as a rule, from early spring to late autumn, interrupted for a short period. Aeschinanthus is picky in care, the only constant condition is bright, diffused lighting throughout the year. With a lack of light, the plant will not begin to bloom. Watering should be moderate. If the flower stops getting enough moisture, and the air is too dry, it will shed its leaves. However, this is not a reason to go too far with watering, otherwise the eschananthus will begin to rot.

If it turns out that the air in the room is too dry, you need to spray the leaves, but in no case should you do this in the sun, otherwise the plant may get burned. The plant does not tolerate sudden changes in temperature. So that over time the eschinanthus does not slow down the rate of flowering, it needs to organize a competent wintering: air temperatureshould be kept around 17 degrees, and watering should be reduced.
