Alleys are a driveway or a pedestrian road, planted on both sides at an equal distance from each other with large shrubs or trees. There are a lot of such alleys in Moscow, as in many cities of Russia.
In the Northern administrative district of the capital of Russia (the territory of the airport area) is the Petrovsko-Razumovskaya alley (the name was Zadnaya Prudovaya until the 19th century).
Brief history of the name
The alley received its modern name in connection with its location near the Petrovsky-Razumovsky passage. It was called Zadnaya Prudovaya in the 19th century due to the location of this green area behind the pond, located in Petrovsky Park (relative to the estate).
How did it all start?
Part of the territory where Petrovsko-Razumovskaya alley is now located, earlier (XVI century) was occupied by the village of Semchinoon the river Zhabne (now the district of the Oktyabrskaya railway, near the platform of the same name). In 1676, these lands were bought by K. P. Naryshkin (grandfather of Peter I), and after the construction of the church of Peter and Paul at the end of the 17th century, the village was named Petrovsky. For your information, this church was demolished in 1938. In the period of the XVIII-XIX centuries, the village passed into the possession of the famous counts Razumovsky, from where the second part of the name came from. Petrovsko-Razumovskoye was transferred to the treasury in 1860, and in 1865 the Petrovskaya Forestry and Agricultural Academy was opened there.
In place of the wooden palace of Razumovsky G. K., demolished in 1862-1865, the main building of the academy was built in the Baroque style (palaces of the middle of the 18th century) by the architect Campioni P. S. according to the designs of Benoit N. L. The service buildings, forming a polygonal square in front of the main facade, were rebuilt from the outbuildings of the estate (1750-1760) with the addition of one more floor.
The academic complex also included buildings made in the style of early classicism (greenhouse, farm, arena, etc.). In 1980, four cast-iron sculptures were installed in the park - allegories of the seasons. In 1917, this territory became part of Moscow, and since 1954 it has become an area of mass housing development. Today, the name has been preserved in the name of the Petrovsky-Razumovsky alley and the passage of the same name, as well as the passage of the Old Petrovsky-Razumovsky. Now there is also a new metro station of the same name with the alley - Petrovskaya station.
Location
Petrovsko-Razumovskaya Alley of Moscow stretches to the northwest along the northeastern border of the territory of Petrovsky Park, starting from the passage of the same name with it and the streets of Nizhnyaya and Verkhnyaya Maslovka. From the southwest, Militseysky Lane and Theater Alley adjoin the roadway, then it turns north, where Summer Alley borders it from the west, and then Mirsky Lane from the east. Then the green park zone goes to the northwest, and from the southwest it adjoins the Lipovaya alley. Then it goes to the roundabout with Seregina and Planetnaya streets, as well as with Naryshkinskaya alley and Staryy proezd Petrovsky-Razumovsky.
On the southwestern side, not far from the road, are the Petrovsky Travel Palace and the Dynamo stadium, and in the northeast, at the very beginning of the alley, there is the Town of Artists. The picturesque natural vegetation of the forests of the Petrovsky Park grows here. The total length of the alley is 1,400 meters.
Buildings and structures
The place from which the numbering of houses on Petrovsko-Razumovskaya Alley begins is Nizhnyaya Maslovka Street. Notable buildings in this area are the Town of Artists with apartments and workshops, a residential building of the Ministry of Defense, and the CSKA Sports Boarding School.
More details should be mentioned about the Town of Artists, which is a cultural site of regional significance. The history of its creation began in the mid-20s of the XX century. At that time, the ideas of building public and residential buildings, cooperatives and communal houses on a professional and industrial basis were quite widespread.principle.
However, the grandiose plan to create a “ship of arts” with an exhibition pavilion and decorated propylaea in the form of sculptures, as well as monumental buildings with large passage arches and spacious terraces, did not materialize.
And yet, the plan to create a center of creative forces at Maslovka came true. Today, professional artists work in a huge number of workshops, where monuments, bas-reliefs, statues, as well as sketches for murals and frescoes for many public buildings and city squares are created. The town is located in two houses: No. 2 and No. 9 (respectively, alley Petrovsko-Razumovskaya, Verkhnyaya Maslovka).
In conclusion
Everyone knows about the first famous dog in space in 1957. This is a small mongrel Laika, who, unfortunately, died in orbit from overheating. The monument to the legendary dog stands in Moscow on the alley presented above.
This historical corner of Moscow can be reached by minibuses and buses with numbers 22, 84, 84a, 84k, 105k and 19m. In addition, the underground lobby of the Dynamo metro station is located four hundred meters from this green zone.
