Biography

The birthplace of the Russian political scientist is Ukrainian Lvov. Lilia Shevtsova was born on October 7, 1949. She is often referred to as "Watching the Russian government". Student years

Being an active student, Lilia did not want to connect her life with her hometown. Upon learning of the possibility of being transferred to Moscow, she did her best to move to the capital of the then Soviet Union.

After graduating from two courses of the law faculty of the LNU. I. Franko, in 1967 Lilia Shevtsova packed her things and left for Moscow. A girl with excellent scores was admitted to MGIMO. But she was given a strict condition: enrollment in a prestigious university will be carried out only as a result of the successful completion of the course subjects for 2.5 years of study.

Shevtsova's education was not limited to the Institute of International Relations. Later, she became a graduate of the Academy of Social Sciences, which functioned under the Central Committee of the CPSU. Engaged in scientific activities and defending dissertations in the history of political science, Lilia Shevtsova received the title of Doctor of Historical Sciences.

Since 1974, she was officially engaged in political research, working as a senior researcher, and then head of a department at the Institute of Economics of the World Socialist System of the USSR Academy of Sciences.

After 15 years, Shevtsova was appointed deputy director at this institute.

And since 1991, she combined this position with the leadership of the Center for Political Studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences, which she headed until 1994.

From 1993 to 1995, she managed to work in foreign universities. She was a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and lectured at Cornell University. She was invited as a professor to Washington.

For a year Professor Shevtsova worked as a researcher at the Kennan Institute at the Woodrow Wilson International Research Center.

Engaged in active scientific and teaching activities. Lilia Fedorovna Shevtsova is an active public figure, a member of various public organizations and movements.

She is tirelessly engaged in research in political science and history, studies the prospects for international cooperation, publishes her works and lectures to students.

At the same time, Shevtsova is a member of the Russian Association of Political Sciences; association "Women for International Security". He is a member of the editorial boards of many political publications.

Political views

Liliya Shevtsova always speaks competently and openly about modern politicians. Her status allows a woman not to be afraid of criticism and the wrath of the leadership.

In the 2000 elections, she supported presidential candidate Grigory Yavlinsky.

And with the beginning of the political crisis in Ukraine, she repeatedly called Russia an aggressor, advocated the unity of Ukraine and even supported calls for increased sanctions against the Russian Federation.
