It so happened that in Soviet times the Kornilov family moved to Ukraine to the developing Donbass. Therefore, the biography of Vladimir Vladimirovich Kornilov is connected precisely with the Donetsk region.
In 1985, a seventeen-year-old guy got a job as a car mechanic at the Donetsk car repair plant, where he worked for just over a year.
In 1986, Vladimir Vladimirovich Kornilov was drafted into the army. He was demobilized in 1988 with the rank of sergeant of the armed forces of the USSR.
Returning to the Donbass, a guy without a higher education again came to work at the city's car repair plantDonetsk, already in the position of a turner.
Hard work at the factory did not appeal to the young guy, but brought a good income.
An active and purposeful young man has always wanted to occupy an important place in society. In 1989, he was appointed as a Komsomol worker in the Voroshilov district committee of the Donetsk Komsomol.
Getting higher education
From childhood, he had an interest in literature and history. Therefore, having earned his initial capital, Vladimir decided to enter Donetsk State University. Having withstood the entrance campaign and successfully passed the exams, he was enrolled in the Faculty of History, graduating in 1995.
During his studies at the university, he continued active work in the Komsomol, showed initiative and was rewarded for this.
First steps in journalism
In 1991, Vladimir Vladimirovich Kornilov was elected chairman of the Youth Association of the IAVR.
In the same year, he managed to get a job at the Donetsk television company 7x7, where Kornilov took the post of editor of the news service.
The career of a journalist went up and by the age of 28, Vladimir Kornilov rose to the rank of director of the TO of the TRC Ukraine in the city of Donetsk. On the tightrope of TRK "Ukraine" he was the host of the acute political program "Choice", which was subsequently closed at the insistence of representatives of the nationalist movement of Ukraine.
At the end of the 20th century, Kornilov was a member of the Intermovement of Donbass.
In 2000, Kornilov combined work ontelevision and in the Donetsk newspaper "Salon Don and Basa", where he served as deputy editor-in-chief.
Political ambitions
Vladimir Vladimirovich Kornilov himself admitted that in the 1990s he was a young, ambitious and not unsuccessful worker in the field of political technologies. In those years, he collaborated with many politicians during the election campaigns of various levels. He took part in the preparations for the election of the governor, as well as in the election campaign of people's deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Colleagues speak of Kornilov as a unique person. Despite the fact that his formation as a person took place in the Donbass, Vladimir Vladimirovich himself was seen in close connection with Renat Akhmetov, he cannot be called a “pro-Donetsk” political scientist. In his investigative journalism and publications, he has repeatedly been openly critical of politicians in the region.
At the same time, Vladimir Vladimirovich Kornilov was a member of the Council of the Russian-Speaking Ukraine organization, which advocated the rights of Russian-speaking citizens, the protection and support of the great and mighty on the territory of Ukraine.
Community activities
In the 2000s, the journalist and political scientist moved to Kyiv. In 2006, Vladimir Kornilov received the high position of director of the Ukrainian branch of the Institute of the CIS countries.
In the same year, he began to cooperate with the Kyiv newspaper "2000" as a political observer and with the newspaper "Segodnya" (Kyiv).
Kornilov's articlesbecame popular among politicians and ordinary readers. In early 2003, he took over as editor-in-chief of the Segodnya newspaper in Kyiv.
Until 2013, he lived in the capital of Ukraine. Then Vladimir Kornilov received a job offer from the Netherlands Center for Eurasian Studies and decided to leave the post of head of UFSIS.
He has been the head of CEI since 2013.
With the beginning of political clashes in Ukraine, Kornilov's journalistic activity became especially bright and active.
Since June 2014, he has been a columnist for the Internet portal Ukraine.ru.
In the second half of 2017, Vladimir Vladimirovich Kornilov became a political columnist for MIA Rossiya Segodnya. He is regularly invited as a guest and expert, political observer to many Russian talk shows. In the Ukrainian media, the name of Kornilov is heard less frequently. This is explained by the fact that he has always been a supporter of strengthening relations between Russia and Ukraine and does not support the foreign policy activities of the current government.

In the early 2000s, Vladimir Kornilov realized that dirty politics was not his calling. However, being an excellent historian and political scientist, he decided to engage in journalistic investigations and expose politicians. He regularly published devastating articles in Russian and Ukrainian media and worked on publishing his own books.
In 2011, Vladimir Kornilov's first book, titled "Donetsk-Krivoy Rog Republic. Killed hope." In this book, the author tells about the history of a short-lived republic, which is an excellent example of the implementation of economic and social reforms. In its short history, this republic managed to survive the occupation, the political crisis and the mass evacuation of the population.
A significant place in the publications of the journalist in the media and his own blog is given to the theme of the revolution in Ukraine. Euromaidan with all its consequences is the main theme of Kornilov's recent works.
The political scientist has always kept pace with the times, analyzed and covered political events in Ukraine. With the start of the coup d'état in the country, the journalist immediately published an article en titled "Eurobeasts …". He was the first who was not afraid to publicly publish the names of nationalist-minded groups that have become active and operate under the cover of the Maidan. Kornilov referred to them the parties "Right Sector", "Ukrainian Patriots", as well as nationalist-minded football fans.
During a short period of time, Vladimir Kornilov wrote many more revealing articles. He wrote that the militants had been preparing for an armed coup for a long time. Because of these publications, the journalist was betrayed by political persecution and was forced to leave Ukraine.
In 2015, Vladimir Vladimirovich co-authored a book that was recognized as the best book on political theory. The title of the piece is How Elections Are Won in the US, UK and Europe: An Analysis of Politic altechnology.”
In 2016, this work was highly appreciated by the national jury and awarded the Silver Shooter award.
Awards
Vladimir Vladimirovich Kornilov is a citizen and public figure of Ukraine. He lives and works in his native state. However, he has no state awards for his journalistic and political review activities. However, in 2008 the government of the Russian Federation awarded the journalist with the Badge of Honor of a Compatriot.
Private life
Vladimir Vladimirovich Kornilov does not hide his family, but does not expose his personal life to the public.
He is married. He is an exemplary family man. Alina's wife works as a bank manager. The family brings up two sons. The eldest son Andrey is already an adult and studies at the university, and the youngest goes to school.
