Childhood

Denis was born in the small town of Chaikovsky, which is located in the Perm region. From early childhood he was interested in sports and watched his physical form. He dreamed of becoming a famous athlete. This desire was in his blood. At the age of 14, he goes to the section on the increasingly popular sport - kickboxing.

Denis Grachev has been involved in this sport for a long time, paying much attention to his physical training. Worked hard, tried not to miss training and not be lazy.

At the sports section, he devoted a lot of time to staging strikes and breathing, with which Denis was helped by his coach. Grachev trained for a long time and finally learned how to fight properly. From that moment on, he decides to devote his life to sports.

He settles in San Diego, California. At first, it was very difficult for Denis, he simply did not understand the locals, because he did not speak English.

To learn a foreign language, he goes to one of San Diego's linguistic classes. He studies, but does not forget about playing sports: he trains hard and keeps himself in shape to always be ready for the next fight.

Retraining

Denis Grachev understands that kickboxing is not the most popular sport in the United States of America. In this connection, he decides to change his occupation and go to boxing.

He said that in his hometown of Tchaikovsky there were no normal sections onboxing, and he had to choose kickboxing. Which, by the way, he does not particularly regret, because he got a lot of skills there.

Finally, he is approved as a boxer in 2011. Up to this point, he has mixed fights between the two sports.

Kick boxer career

Despite the fact that Denis was an amateur kickboxer, the ratio of his wins and losses was a record: 123-18. At the same time, he made 40 victories ahead of schedule, that is, he knocked out his opponent.

In 2004, Denis Grachev participates in the World Championship, which takes place in Basel, Switzerland. He competes in the weight category up to 81 kilograms and, thanks to his skills, receives the third and bronze medal.

The next time he took into account past mistakes and at the World Championships in the city of Szeged, which is located in Hungary, he won all his opponents and received a gold medal. And also received the title of international master of sports in kickboxing.

Other awards:

• In the weight category up to 87 kg in the city of Chelyabinsk, Denis received a bronze medal, being in third place.
• In Samara in the category up to 81 kg, he received gold, taking first place.
• In the city of Cherepovets, Grachev won first place and received gold.
• Also in Novomoskovsk, he once again confirmed the title of champion, thanks to the victory and another gold medal.

Denis in the United States of America went in for sports according to the rules of Muay Thai kickboxing. He had his serious fight against the American legend Manson Gibson, the fight was scheduled for 7July 2007. Our compatriot managed to defeat Gibson, though the third time. He laid him down by technical knockout, and Denis was awarded the victory. Even Manson's corner threw in a white towel, in recognition of the dominance of the Russian boxer over the American.

Officially, Grachev became the WBC Muay Thai World Light Heavyweight Champion on November 29, 2007.

MMA

Denis Grachev decides to try his hand at mixed martial arts. In 2007 he comes to MMA. There is little information about his fights, however, it is known that Denis ended his career with 3 wins and 1 loss.

And he also won the first three fights by knocking out opponents, and in the last fourth, he, unfortunately, lost on points to Ricardo Funchu.

Boxing career

As noted, Denis Grachev understood that kickboxing was the least profitable sport. It was for this reason that he went into boxing, motivating his decision by the fact that since childhood he wanted to do this particular sport.

Started his professional career in July 2007. He spent about 2-3 fights once a year. This was quite enough for a beginner. At the same time, he combined boxing with teaching English and other sports.

He had eight victorious fights, and the last one brought him to a draw. After that, he did not enter the ring for a little over a year, and soon he decided to abandon other sports altogether and go only to boxing.

In January 2011, he defeated Haitian boxer Azea Augustam on points. Just a few months later, in May of the same year, he entered the ring with the invincible American Vladin Biosse. The fight came out extremely tough and continued until the referee finished it due to the pressure of Denis. It is quite clear that our compatriot has won.

Two months later he re-entered the ring, but with the American journeyman Eddie Caminero. Denis Grachev knocked out a foreign athlete with a deft blow.
