Why Yulia Tymoshenko was imprisoned and under what circumstances she was released

Based on these two points, the court qualified the actions of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko as abuse of power. According to the prosecution, her actions as a politician brought the country to the brink of an economic crisis. On October 11, 2011, a meeting of the Pechersk Court was held. After considering the statement of the Naftogaz company and hearing both sides, judge Rodion Kireev found the leader of the Batkovshchina party guilty of his deed. It also ruled that the company's claim for pecuniary damages be recognized as valid. According to the prosecutor's calculations, the amount that the ex-premier must return to Naftogaz was about $190 million. However, the court decided to increase the amount of damage several times. So, according to the decision of the authorities, Tymoshenko Yulia Vladimirovna must reimburse the company one and a half billion dollars.
