The capital of Russia is being rapidly rebuilt, skyscrapers appear, among which, for some reason, abandoned buildings remain. But many of them have a grandiose view, and some of them have a huge amount of space, reaching up to 100 thousand square meters. Now such structures most often become a haven for people who have lost their homes, photographers and writers come here.

Visit Rules

First of all, it is better to refuse to visit the abandoned buildings of Moscow at night. During the day, there are fewer chances to meet homeless children and persons without a fixed place of residence at such facilities; dogs. Visibility during the day is better, and abandoned sites are a huge risk, as there are many parts that can cause injury or injury. This includes holes in the floor, bare wires, fittings sticking out of the walls.

If possible, it is better to find a guide - a person who knows the emergency building and even tells the story of the visitedobject.

Grand structures of the city

One of the most famous abandoned buildings in Moscow is the business center "Zenith". The people call it differently: “Blue tooth”, “Ice”, and all because of the extraordinary shape and blue glass lining. The object is located on Vernadsky Avenue, 82 (metro station "Yugo-Zapadnaya"). This building has 22 floors, the total area is 100 thousand square meters. It is under protection, but it is completely painted by writers. It is quite dangerous inside the building, as there are open elevator shafts and a lot of protruding fittings, the construction was abandoned in the 90s.

Water park "Akvadrom" (Metro station "Kuznetskaya"). The construction of the facility was stopped in 2000. At that time, there was not enough money, although most of it had already been erected. The water park is very dangerous and several accidents have been recorded here, but there are no fewer visitors from this. Gradually, the building is being demolished.

Abandoned industrial facility - plant named after. Likhachev (Avtozavodskaya street, 23, Tulskaya metro station). From here for many years the ZIS-5 cars came out. The Moscow government plans to restore the plant, but so far the remaining valuables are only being plundered.

Where to take a photoshoot

There are abandoned buildings in Moscow for photo shoots and, above all, this is the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. It is located in the village of Yaropolets (Volokamsky district). It was built by Count Chernyshev according to his own design, and it even functioned until 1966, and now it’s juststanding and falling apart. You can enter the territory without any problems.

Another interesting estate is located in the Dmitrovsky district called Olgovo. Part of the territory was bought by private individuals, in the other part there were palace ruins, a park in good condition and several ponds. They say that on the estate you can meet the ghost of the Queen of Spades.

Spooky and dangerous places

The abandoned hospital building in Moscow on Klinsky Street really terrifies the local population and visitors. This is the Khovrinsk hospital, the construction of which began in 1980, but for unknown reasons was discontinued after 5 years. The main body of the hospice has the shape of a cross, and at the edges of the fork, very reminiscent of the Umbrella logo from the computer game "Resident Evil".

It is still considered dangerous to visit the VIEV laboratory at 8, Poplar Alley Street. Even before 1918, experiments on animals were carried out here, anthrax and the effect of radiation on living organisms were studied. Therefore, near the laboratory building there is a burial ground where animals are buried at a depth of up to 3 meters, and they are a real danger to the environment and people.

The most eerie abandoned place in Moscow is still considered the hadron collider "Accelerator", located in the urban district of Protvino. They began to build this structure back in the 80s of the last century, but already in the 90s they mothballed it. This is a whole ring tunnel, with a total length of 21 kilometers. The tunnel runs at a depth of 60 meters. Until the moment itconservation there even managed to partially bring equipment. To this day, emergency lighting works in the tunnel, air is pumped. Even recently, the Kurchatov Institute has expressed a desire to continue construction and research, but so far nothing is known. The facility is under protection, but still very eager to see the miracle of technical thought of the last century, they get to the facility, although they often face a number of problems.

No one needs cinemas

There are about 20 abandoned buildings in Moscow, where it was once planned to show movies, in almost every residential area. They were all built at about the same time from the 60s to the 70s of the last century. Until 2011, there were still attempts to revive them, but it is already clear that the city government is not up to cinemas. Some buildings have been demolished to be replaced by modern shopping malls, and some remain abandoned:

  • Vanguard near Domodedovskaya station;
  • Volga, near the Petrovsko-Razumovskaya station, completely abandoned after the closing of the nightclub;
  • Leningrad near Sokol metro station is under threat of demolition.

Subway stations

Almost every metro in the world has so-called ghost stations, and the Moscow Metro is no exception.

According to travelers, one of the interesting abandoned buildings in the center of Moscow is the Escalator Gallery. Although the station itself operates -"Sparrow Hills", but earlier it should have had two exits. It was planned that the exit abandoned today was supposed to lead directly to the top of the Sparrow Hills, but for some reason the construction was never completed. Now this is the place where lovers of ruins and "technogenic ghosts" come.

Station "Volokamskaya" (1975) is quite visible between the stations "Shchukinskaya" and "Tushinskaya", under the Tushino airport. If you look closely, you can see the purple walls of the hall. In Soviet times, there were plans to build up the airport, but the public opposed, even Gagarin opposed it. Now the station remains empty, and the microdistrict has not appeared.

Holy places

Many abandoned buildings in Moscow, where services have not been held for a long time and the church choir is not heard. But despite the dilapidated walls and crumbling plaster, they still attract people.

One of these places is located on the banks of the Reuta River in the village of Avdulovo, and this is the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God. This white-stone building was erected back in 1762.

In the village of Glukhovo there is also a beautiful building - the Tikhvin Church. It was built in 1778 and even restored in 1864, but in Soviet times the bell tower was destroyed, used for other purposes, and now it is completely abandoned.

In the village of Shumanovo, the ruins of the once majestic church building, the temple of Dmitry Thessalonica (1805), have also been preserved. Like most buildings of this purpose, the temple was badly damaged in Soviet times and wascompletely looted.

By the way, all these beautiful buildings are classified as abandoned buildings in Moscow without security, that is, you can safely come here without fear that someone will interfere, admire the local beauties or take a photo session. Judging by the reviews, such abandoned places really attract with their mystical energy, melancholy.

What can be done with abandoned structures

Perhaps, few people know that in the Russian capital since 2012 there has been a program that involves the transfer of abandoned buildings in Moscow for preferential rent. At the same time, the official document promises that the lease term will be 49 years, and the cost of 1 square meter will be 1 ruble. In fact, such a program allows the city to preserve the architectural objects of the city, and for people to find a place to live and engage in small business.

It cannot be said that many took advantage of this offer of the authorities, but some families have established a good business. For example, in 2013, the Stepanov family rented a two-story dilapidated building in Khlebny Lane and made repairs there. Now the family with 4 children lives on the 2nd floor, and on the first floor they opened the children's educational center "Live House". For children from nearby areas, there is a place with circles and sections, educational courses are held here and a creative workshop operates. An anti-cafe is open for parents. So you can not only take a photo session on the ruins or just look for artifacts, but also do a useful thing: dobusiness and reanimate the beloved abandoned building of the capital.
