Wikipedia has a separate article dedicated to the case of Yegor Bychkov, a guy from Nizhny Tagil who, at the age of 19, founded a fund called "City Without Drugs" (GBN) similar to the existing organization of the former head of Yekaterinburg, Yevgeny Roizman. In 2010, he was convicted by the court of the Dzerzhinsky district of Nizhny Tagil. He was charged with kidnapping and torturing them in a rehabilitation center owned by the foundation. What is known about this person?
Childhood
According to Yegor Bychkov's mother, Elena Nikolaevna, in childhood, his son was often offended, but he always knew how to stand up for himself and his brother with a word. To become physically strong, he started boxing.
From childhood, he had a desire to help people. The mother recalls: when her son was 11 years old, she traded for days at a kiosk, which was a 40-minute walk from home. Egor got up early in the morning to cook breakfast and take his mother to work before the start.school.
He was distinguished by youthful maximalism and a heightened sense of justice. After graduating from 9 classes, the guy faced the problem of drug addiction in his native Nizhny Tagil. During this period, he became acquainted with the activities of Evgeny Roizman in the Urals and decided to follow his example. On the basis of the sports section, the HDN organization was created.
GBN activities
The main goal of the organization, created in 2006, was the fight against drug trafficking. The spirit of adventurism was present in its activities from the very beginning. Bychkovtsy caught drug addicts, went through the whole chain with them, getting a tip on the main huckster, after which they reported the collected information to the police.
The organization consisted mainly of athletes, who often themselves participated in ambushes and operations to capture criminals. In two years, about 200 joint events with the police were held. How did Nizhny Tagil perceive Yegor Bychkov?
For them, he was an obsessive fighter against the region's plunge into the abyss of drug addiction. The police saw with what dedication he approached each operation. Bychkov was even called to the authorities, but he did not have enough education, and he had a criminal record behind him - as a teenager, the young man was accused of fraud.
In 2008, the foundation established a rehabilitation center with the same name, which was destined to exist for only six months.
Rehabilitation Methods
Who did Yegor Bychkov collaborate with? "Drug Free City"supported by the Christian Orthodox Church. Gennady Vedernikov, rector of the Alexander Nevsky Church, perceived the young man as a modern leader with a heightened sense of justice, sacrificial, not accepting any lie.
Yegor Bychkov used his own money to renovate the premises in order to open a center where patients actually did not receive any treatment. For three weeks, drug addicts were handcuffed to their beds to prevent them from changing their minds and escaping. During the "quarantine" they were kept exclusively on water and bread, after which they began occupational therapy, good nutrition, and conversations with Orthodox priests.
"Rehabilitation" cost the families of patients 5,000 rubles, of which 2,000 went to their delivery, the rest - for food and maintenance. Six months later, the prosecutor's office, which received complaints from patients, closed the rehabilitation center, and brought its creator to criminal liability.
Litigation
On the dock next to Bychkov were his associates - Alexander Vasyagin and Vitaly Pagin. The latter had previously been a patient of the center himself with 4 years of drug use experience. He believes that quarantine is a voluntary self-isolation that saves people.
However, the prosecutor's office saw violence against the person in the activities of the leaders of the center, accusing them of kidnapping and torturing them. For illegal acts, the prosecutor demanded a sentence of 12 years in prison for Yegor Bychkov.
Court ended October 12, 2010of the year. At that time, the head of the center was only 23 years old. Found guilty, Bychkov was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison.
There was a whole wave of protest in his defense. Discussions were held even on central TV channels. Yevgeny Roizman, who became a deputy, spoke out in defense of the Nizhny Tagil people, and rock musician Vladimir Shakhrin directly turned to Dmitry Medvedev, the country's president at that time, for support.
Reconsideration
Egor Bychkov also had opponents. Some believed that all his activities were PR. The young man dreamed of the laurels of Yevgeny Roizman, wishing, just like him, to become a deputy. Others admitted that there was no alternative to the rehabilitation center of the State Bureau of Investigation in Nizhny Tagil, but crystal-clear people, and not individuals with a dubious past, should take on this case.
But there were much more supporters who asked for Bychkov and wrote letters to various authorities. On November 3, 2010, the regional court considered the appeal and released the prisoner right in the courtroom. The real term was replaced by a conditional one (2.5 years) with a delay of 12 months.
Five years later, the RAE-2015 exhibition was held in Nizhny Tagil, which was attended by Dmitry Medvedev. It is known that a meeting between Yegor Bychkov and the Prime Minister was organized there, at which the latter thanked the high official for his support.
Today
What is known about Yegor Bychkov's family? The biography of a young man is rather modest. In 2010correspondents visited the house of a Nizhny Tagil celebrity. At that time, Yegor lived with his parents in an ordinary two-room apartment, which needed repairs. He had a bride who supported the young man in every possible way - Yulia Kyrchanova.
After his release, Yegor Bychkov lost interest in the problems of drug addicts, turning into a media manager. He founded the news agency Mezhdu Rows. According to rumors, it was sponsored by the infamous journalist Aksana Panova. There are many scandals around the publication: either the editor-in-chief was accused of extremism, having arranged a search at her house, or Bychkov is interrogated about the explosion of the car of one of the competitors in the media business, Alexander Solovyov.
In 2012, Yegor Bychkov founded a new foundation that deals with the problems of disabled children diagnosed with cerebral palsy "Live, baby!". But even here there are ill-wishers who accuse the young entrepreneur and blogger of self-interest and misappropriation of charitable funds.
Looks like we'll be hearing more from this young man.
