Alexander Gorbachev is a famous Soviet and Russian football player. Played as a midfielder. In the mid-2000s, he began his coaching career. Currently he works at the headquarters of Igor Cherevchenko in the Kaliningrad B altika. In 1995 he was awarded the title of Master of Sports.
Debut in "Signal"
Alexander Gorbachev was born in the town of Izobilny, which is located in the Stavropol Territory. This happened in 1970.
In Stavropol, he graduated from the school of the Olympic reserve. Alexander Gorbachev made his professional football debut at the age of 18 in the Signal team from his hometown of Izobilny.
In 1988, the team was just formed and applied for participation in the championship of the RSFSR. Having successfully performed in the zonal starts, the team won the right to participate in the next season in the USSR championship.
Before the start of the championships, the backbone of the team consisted of young players, among whom was Alexander Gorbachev. In the championship of the USSR "Signal" was in the third zone of the second league. The team played quite successfully in home meetings, but often lost big away. For example, 1:6 from Spartak Nalchinsk and 0:5 from Yerevan"Prometheus". At the end of the season, the team had 13 wins in 42 matches. With 34 points, the club was in 16th place out of 22 teams. This result did not allow to keep a residence permit in the second league.
The first successes of a football player
Despite the unsuccessful performance of the team from his hometown, serious clubs paid attention to Alexander Gorbachev. In 1990, he even ended up in the duplicate of the capital's CSKA.
However, he soon continued his career in the KAMAZ team from Naberezhnye Chelny. In the early 90s, the club from Tatarstan played in the Central zone of the second league. The team spent exactly a year, being in the middle of the standings. On the 10th place among 22 teams. This season was the last championship of the USSR. In 1992, KAMAZ received the right to play in the First League of the Russian Championship.
However, Gorbachev did not follow the club. He played for "Asmaral" from Kislovodsk, after two seasons he spent in the Stavropol "Dynamo". Then he returned to KAMAZ.
Major League debut
In 1994 Alexander Gorbachev made his debut in the Major League. The football player did not immediately get a place in the starting lineup, but during the season he got used to it and began to regularly get into the squad.
For the team from Naberezhnye Chelny, that year was one of the most successful in history. The team played powerfully at home, losing only once (to Spartak Moscow - 1:3). However, a weak away game did not allow the team to get into the European Cup zone. KAMAZ took sixth place, two points were missing before qualifying for the UEFA Cup.
Onnext season Alexander Gorbachev, whose photo is in this article, was one of the leaders of KAMAZ. The team took 9th place this time, having received the right to participate in the Intertoto Cup. True, Gorbachev's debut in European competition did not take place, he moved to another club.
In the Kaliningrad "B altic"
Transit through the Stavropol "Dynamo" was in the Kaliningrad "B altic" Alexander Gorbachev. His further biography turned out to be strongly connected with this club even after the end of his sports career.
In 1997, "B altika" was one of the strong middle peasants of the Major League. In 34 matches, the team lost only 7 times, but due to the large number of draws, they failed to take a high place. Kaliningraders shared points with their opponents 16 times - an absolute league record. As a result, 9th place and a ticket to the Intertoto Cup.
European debut
In the Intertoto Cup, Gorbachev made his debut in 1998. Already in the first round "B altika" met with the Bulgarian "Spartak" from Varna. Kaliningraders solved the problem in the home match, winning 4:0. The away meeting ended in a draw - 1:1.
In the second round, the Slovak "Trencin" got into rivals. But here, “B altika” has successfully held a starting meeting. This time she won away 1:0, and at home she was content with a goalless draw.
Successful march on the tournament grid ended in the third round with a defeat in Yugoslavia from "Vojvodina" - 1:4. At home, B altika won withminimum score, but it was not enough.
Performance in the Intertoto Cup affected the results of the team in the championship. At the end of the season, having taken the penultimate place, the Kaliningraders were relegated to the First League.
In 1999, B altika fought for a return to the elite of Russian football, but was only fifth.
Return to the Major League
After B altika failed to return to the Premier League on the first try, Gorbachev left the club, signing a contract with Fakel Voronezh. The team spent the entire season at the bottom of the standings, but secured themselves from the struggle for survival, finishing 13th out of 16 teams.
Gorbachev then played for a short time in Elista Uralan and Krasnoyarsk Metallurg. And in 2002 he returned to B altika. Here he spent four more seasons, until the very end of his career.
In 2002, Gorbachev became the champion of the Second League, taking first place in the "West" zone. Kaliningraders have won 35 matches out of 38 without suffering a single defeat. The closest pursuer, the Tula Arsenal, was 31 points behind. In total, the team had 108 points at the end of the championship. With a goal difference of 109-20.
The following year, B altika had a confident season in the First Division, finishing seventh, however, in 2004 they were again relegated to the PFL. In 2005, he again managed to triumphantly return. True, this time the gap from the second-placed VologdaDynamo scored only 16 points.
In total, Gorbachev played 183 matches for B altika, in which he scored 7 goals. Separately, it is worth mentioning his statistics of performance in the Major League - 138 games and 7 goals scored.
In the national team
A young promising football player has been on the pencil of the coaches of the national team more than once, but he has never been called up to the national team. But he distinguished himself at the 1995 World Universiade, which was held in Fukuoka, Japan.
At the tournament, the Russian team was 90% made up of players from Chelny KAMAZ, Gorbachev also entered it.
In the debut match, our team defeated the Americans 2:0. Then she defeated the Nigerian national team - 3:0. If in the first match Gorbachev came on as a substitute, then in this one he appeared on the field in the starting lineup and played all 90 minutes. The final meeting of the group stage with South Korea ended in a draw 0:0.
Rivals of the Russians in the 1/4 finals was Iran. This team was the first in the tournament to print the gates of our goalkeeper Platon Zakharchuk. But in response, the Iranians received three goals - Durnev scored a double, Akhmetgaliev scored another goal.
In the semi-finals we met with the hosts of the tournament, the Japanese. This match was the most unsuccessful in the tournament. Gorbachev received a red card, while the national team lost 0:1.
In the match for third place, the Russians defeated the Ukrainians 3:1.
Coaching career
In 2007 Alexander Nikolaevich Gorbachev begancoaching career. His first team was the double of the Kaliningrad B altika, in which he served as head coach for some time. Then there were the Bryansk "Dynamo" and the Latvian "Transit" from Ventspils.
In 2011 Alexander Gorbachev returned to Kaliningrad. The coach, with a short break to work in the Khabarovsk SKA-Energy, is working on the B altic coast today.
One of the brightest seasons in which he was the head coach of the team was 2015-2016.
The team made a confident debut in the championship, taking third place after three rounds. However, the results then declined. The number of draws and defeats pulled the club to the bottom of the standings.
As a result, in 38 rounds they managed to win only 11 times, 11 more times the Kaliningraders played in a draw and suffered 16 defeats. The team was marked by a rather low performance. A total of 37 goals scored with 47 missed.
At the end of the season, "B altika" took 17th place, being among the five teams that were supposed to leave the championship of the Football National League. However, two clubs from the Second Division immediately refused to be promoted. They were "Change" from Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Nizhny Novgorod "Volga". As a result, Yenisei Krasnoyarsk and B altika Kaliningrad took their place in the First Division.
Currently Igor Cherevchenko works as the head coach of B altika. The team is stillplays in the FNL. Gorbachev is one of his assistants. The coaching staff has been tasked with reaching the Premier League by 2020.
