The respected American politician, whose career peak was the position of vice-president under the first black president, is known to us more by his "management" of Ukraine. Joe Biden, in his interviews and memoirs, has repeatedly told how he gave guidance to his Ukrainian wards. According to him, he also banned the use of force by Yanukovych and united Poroshenko with Yatsenyuk.
Early years
Joe Biden (full name Joseph Robinette Biden Jr.) was born on November 20, 1942 in the northeast of the country, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He is the eldest of four children in a Catholic family. His father is of English descent, his mother's ancestors came to the US from Ireland.
When Joe was 10 years old, they moved to Claymont, Delaware, where his father was selling cars. In 1961, Biden graduated from a Catholic school, and in 1965 from a local university, where he received a bachelor's degree in history andpolitical science.
Then he continued his education at Syracuse University in New York. In 1968 he defended his doctoral thesis in law. For some time he worked in his speci alty in his native state, where he opened his own law firm. Didn't get into the Vietnam War because he had asthma.
Senate career
In 1972 (at age 30), he was elected to the post of senator (the minimum age from which one can be in this position) and has since been constantly re-elected from his native state of Delaware. In the same year, the first wife and daughter died in a car accident, two sons were seriously injured. Caring for surviving children has become the main thing in the biography of Joe Biden. He wanted to resign, but at the urging of Democratic leader Mike Mansfield, he agreed to stay. His candidacy for the post of senator was approved when Biden was in the hospital near his sons. The tragedy of life did not prevent him from making an impressive political career.
In the Senate, Joe Biden served on the Judiciary and Foreign Policy Committee, was considered a good speaker and responsible politician. Later he headed the legal committee, among his initiatives were acts to increase the powers of the police, to combat violence against women, and to expand the scope of federal legislation. He chaired the foreign policy committee three times, playing a key role in the decision to bomb Yugoslavia. Biden served in the Senate until September 2009
Presidential Candidate
In 1987, a young liberal politicianannounced his intention to take part in the presidential elections. Joe Biden has said he wants to reverse the reforms undertaken by the Reagan administration. He got off to a great start to the campaign, becoming the Democratic Party's top donor fundraiser. However, facts from the politician's biography were later made public. Biden has always claimed to have been the best student in law school and university, but journalists have unearthed his real results. It turned out that he studied very mediocrely. After high-profile scandals in September of the same year, he withdrew from the election race, making a statement that he was dominated by a "hypertrophied shadow of past mistakes".

In 2008, Barack Obama invited Joe Biden to become his partner as vice president in the upcoming presidential election. His campaign debate with Republican candidate Sarah Paytlin garnered the largest television audience in American history, surpassing even the debates of presidential candidates Obama and McCain in popularity. According to the polls, Biden defeated his rival. The Obama-Biden tandem won the 2008 elections, and they againwere re-elected in 2012.
As vice president, he was remembered for his controversial remarks about Ukraine - focusing on his key role in decision-making in this country. One of the most controversial photos in Joe Biden's biography was the picture where he sits at the head of the table with Ukrainian politicians, taking the place that, according to protocol, should be held by the president of the host country.
