Chocolate exhibition: edible art conquers cities

Here you can find familiar household items, paintings, copies of famous architectural masterpieces and even clothes - and all this is made of chocolate. And what is especially pleasing to the sweet tooth is that at any such event they conduct a tasting of the product and often give out delicious gifts. Recently, the media have often mentioned the Nikolya chocolate exhibition, the author of which is the Crimean sweet master, Nikolai Popov. His creations have already visited several cities of the CIS countries.

Meet the chocolatier

Nikolai Popov grew up in the Crimea, in a family of hereditary culinary specialists. He carefully considered the choice of profession, but in the end remained faithful to the traditions of the family. After completing the relevant training, he quickly became a well-known chef. Gradually, among other options, he began to give preference to the art of making cakes, and then decideddedicate yourself entirely to chocolate.

The Polish and French academies opened the doors to Nikolai, where he was initiated into the subtleties of working with the world's favorite delicacy. The result of the training and work of the creative thought of the chocolatier was the opening in 2006 of an art confectionery in Simferopol. And three years later, Nikolai opened his first chocolate museum. The exhibition became so successful that in 2014 the master decided to go on a tour of the CIS cities with it and began to implement his plan from Belarus.

Sweets in Grodno

With a very strong desire and a certain amount of imagination, one can trace the path that the chocolate exhibition has taken by the smell that accompanied this wonderful delicacy everywhere. The lucky ones who got acquainted with the exposition say that it is easy to feel the aroma even on the threshold of the museum that received Nikolai Popov and his creations.

Chocolate exhibition in Grodno was held on the territory of the New Castle. Edible knives, frying pans, wrenches and screwdrivers, chocolate dogs, squirrels and hares are located in two halls of the museum, filling the surroundings with an unforgettable aroma. The most impressive exhibit is the Eiffel Tower. According to the master, almost half a ton of local, Belarusian chocolate was used to make the exposition.

Chocolate exhibition opened in Grodno by traditional breaking tiles, the fragments of which were received by visitors. The event also began in Vitebsk and Brest, where the exhibition had already visited by that time.

Difficulties on the way and on the spot

Allthe exhibits are made from local chocolate and then transported in special vans at the optimum temperature. Chocolate is a fragile material, and some of the creations are damaged along the way. Their master restores on site for several days before opening.

However, exhibits suffer not only in the process of transportation. Curious and incredulous sweet tooth visitors lead to damage. Some just want to touch a picture of chocolate. Others do not believe that all this splendor is made from their favorite delicacy, and, touching, they check. The third dream to try. One of the exhibits demonstrated by the chocolate exhibition in Minsk was an edible frying pan with a broken edge. Nikolai Popov says he deliberately didn't "repair" it after the previous exhibition.

In the vastness of our country

All 2015 the exhibition will be in Russia. She has already visited Belgorod, Kaliningrad, Rostov-on-Don and several other cities. Everywhere a lot of people came to look at the sweet exhibits. And each time, among the edible masterpieces, something new appeared. The chocolate exhibition in Belgorod, for example, was distinguished by sweet copies of a beer set, a rustic table with sausage, bread and bacon, a whole collection of marzipan designer bags. And, of course, not a single city was deprived of the opportunity to see the Eiffel Tower, a culinary masterpiece weighing 45 kg.

The chocolate exhibition in Belgorod and other cities was accompanied by the sale of souvenirs and tasting of sweets prepared by the master himself.

Trendsetter

Of course, such an event is not a Crimean invention. One of the most famous chocolate salons takes place in Paris, a city that is rightfully considered a trendsetter, and not only in textiles. The Paris Chocolate Show is a grandiose show with celebrities dressed in clothes made from this delicacy. Master classes from the best chocolatiers, tastings are held here, masterpieces of culinary art are exhibited. Most recently, the Paris chocolate exhibition visited Moscow.

March holiday sweet tooth

At the beginning of the first month of spring, the streets of the capital were filled with the aroma of cocoa. An exhibition of chocolate brought from Paris was held at the Expocentre. The salon was preceded by a fashion show: Russian celebrities showed the public edible dresses and suits "sewn" in Paris.

The chocolate exhibition in Moscow was dedicated to Russian confectionery art. Visitors could admire exhibits that had not been exhibited anywhere before, listen to lectures on the history of Russian chocolate and taste sweets prepared according to pre-revolutionary recipes.

Sweet-toothed, living or visiting the capital, can also visit the exhibition "Chocolate &Cacao" at the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia. Here, however, it will be interesting not only for lovers of delicacies: in the museum you can learn about the history of chocolate, 4 thousand years long, about the world traditions of its production, see a lot of rare and valuable exhibits.

Events like the chocolate show are a treasure trove of positive emotions. They also contribute to a kind of enlightenment: often after visiting the museum, those with a sweet tooth begin to understand chocolate better, choose products meticulously, and learn to distinguish the best delicacies from mediocre ones.
