Lugovoi himself rejected the accusations. He cited available CCTV footage. For his part, Mr. Lugovoi offered three of his own versions of Litvinenko's poisoning. He believed that the case may be involved:

• "Russian mafia";
• oligarch Boris Berezovsky.
