Lian Moriarty was born in Australia, in the city of Sydney, November 15, 1966. Mom carefully wrote down everything that the baby did in a diary, which is still kept by her. Only Lian was honored to have her own chronological records of childhood, since subsequently four more children were born in the family - 3 daughters and a son. Jacqueline and Nicola Moriarty are also writers.

Lian wrote her first novel Three Wishes in 2004. At this time, the girl studied at Macquarie University in Sydney, which is one of the top three institutions of higher education in Australia. In a sense, he waspart of her thesis. And it became the first novel that brought Lian Moriarty success and marked the beginning of her successful writing career.
