The secret of the name Hodor
In one of the episodes of the sixth season, it becomes clear to the viewer why this character says only one word. The fact is that during the escape of Bran and Mira from the cave, Hodor closed the door with his body. And he did this due to the fact that Bran, being in a vision, moved into Hodor when he was still a boy. Mira, running away from the cave, shouted a phrase consisting of only two words, namely, "Close the passage." And while Hodor tried to detain the dead, he repeated this phrase until it was reduced to the word "Hodor". At the same time, the boy (Hodor as a child) trembled in a fit, repeating the words after the adult Hodor. From that moment, irreversible changes took place in the mind of the hero, and he never became the same.
