Dmitry Sosnovsky is a Russian professional undefeated fighter of mixed martial arts, is a representative of the heavy weight category (up to 109 kilograms). The height of the fighter is 191 centimeters. Dmitry Sosnovsky has been playing in professional mixed martial arts organizations since 2012 - he took part in fights under the auspices of the UFC, Coliseum FC, Oplot Challenge, ProFC and others.

Biography

Born on July 6, 1989 in the city of Y alta, Crimean region, USSR. Despite the fact that Dmitry was born on the territory of the Ukrainian SSR, contrary to rumors spread in the media, which mislead the public, Sosnovsky was never a citizen of Ukraine - he spent all his childhood in the Moscow region, served in the army in the city of Torzhok, has a passport citizen of the Russian Federation.

From an early age, Dmitry went in for sports. He attended sections of power sports and martial arts. At a professional level, he was engaged in weightlifting and arm wrestling, took part in suchchampionships, such as "Bogatyrs of Russia", "Russian Bench Press" and others.

In the biography of Dmitry Sosnovsky, an important event was the acquaintance with the popular mixed-style fighter Alexei Oleinik, who later advised the guy to start doing MMA. He also became the first coach and mentor for Dmitry. After a couple of years of close cooperation, the fighters moved to Kharkiv, where Oleinik is from, where they both joined the community of the Oplot club.

Professional career

In October 2012, Sosnovsky made his professional debut in the ProFC mixed martial arts tournament. At the twentieth second of the first round, the debutant knocked out his opponent. In the near future, he regularly performed under the auspices of the Kharkiv league Oplot Challenge, where he won six out of six possible victories. His aggressive style and drive earned him the nickname "Evil Machine".

Fight with Alexander Emelianenko

The most important event in the career of Dmitry Sosnovsky was the fight at the Coliseum tournament in January 2014. The tournament was held in St. Petersburg, Dmitry's opponent was the titled Russian heavyweight fighter Alexander Emelianenko. Before the fight, experts and bookmakers predicted an almost 100% victory for Emelianenko. Under the psychological pressure of the public and the desire to break the legendary fighter, Dmitry Sosnovsky brought down a hail of blows on his opponent in the first round. As a result, the referee stopped the fight, recording a technical knockout, and the obvious outsider D. Sosnovsky was declared the winner.

Further career, present

Since 2015 lives in Moscow. In the same year, he entered the auspices of mixed martial arts Bellator MMA, but did not fight a single fight here.

Soon Sosnovsky began to receive an offer to compete in the UFC, and in March 2018 he made his triumphant debut against Mark Godbeer.
