Dmitry Bykovsky was born in the city of Frunze, Kirghiz SSR on January 29, 1969. Father Alexei worked as a blacksmith, and his mother was a housewife. Parents named their son in honor of his great-grandfather, the hero of the First World War. The ancestors of the actor are the Don Cossacks. Until the age of 14, Dmitry lived in Central Asia with his parents and two siblings, and after the collapse of the Soviet Union, they were forced to move to Voronezh, as hostilities broke out in their homeland.

After studying there successfully for four years, after graduation, the aspiring actor got a job at the Volgograd New Experimental Theater, and after, in 2000, continued his career at the Lipetsk Drama Theater.

To reach a higher level compared to work in provincial cities, Dmitry was allowed by chance, namely, he was noticed by Natalya Leonova, a talented director from the cultural capital of Russia. The actor did not hesitate to move to the capital, where since 2003 he worked in the troupe of the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater and at the same time tried his hand at film roles. Then he auditioned for the film "Pure in Life", where he played a bodyguard (one of the main roles).

After working at the Bolshoi Theater for 10 years, he moved to the theater on Vasilyevsky Island.

Dmitry Bykovsky (Romashov) first appeared in films in 2001 (in the films "Vovochka", "Chief of the Carousels"). Then the truth he played episodic roles. The following year, he starred in the second part of the film "Secrets of the Investigations", where he played a former military man. Later there were roles in the films "National Security Agent-4", "Streets of Broken Lights-5", "Deadly Force-5". At the age of 20, at the insistence of his father, he married for the first time and had a daughter, Veronica. However, the marriage did not last long, soon the woman took her daughter and emigrated to America.

In 1996, Anna Pobezhimova became the second wife of Dmitry Bykovsky, the couple even sealed their union with a wedding ceremony. Despite this, after 10 years the couple separated. The son Yaroslav appeared in the marriage.

In 2013, the actor married police officer Natalya again. The occupation of the wife more than once helped the actor to prepare and get used to new roles, because she knows all the subtleties of this "kitchen" from the inside. The couple is truly happy and is raising their daughter Aksinya together.
