Sergey Puskepalis was born in mid-April 1966 in Kursk. His parents are both foreigners. Mother is a native of Bulgaria, father is a native of Lithuania. The head of the family worked as a geologist, on duty he often had to move. For some time, the Puskepalis lived in Chukotka. As a child, the boy was quite temperamental, Bulgarian and Lithuanian roots made themselves felt.
At first he dreamed of becoming a military pilot, later, when he was first invited to take part in a school production, he firmly decided that he would connect his activities with creativity.

With the onset of military age, Sergei had to serve. Was sent to the fleet. After returning, he entered the Saratov Theater School, got on the course of Yuri Kiselev. 10 years later he received the title of Honored Artist of Russia.
Sergey went to get higher acting education at GITIS,the curator of his course was Peter Fomenko, who became his true mentor.
Working in the theater
Diploma of higher acting education Sergei received in 2001. His graduation work was the production of "Twenty-seven", prepared by him independently according to the scenario of Slapovsky. After some time, Sergei changed roles, as he was invited to the position of chief director at the Academic Drama Theater in Yaroslavl. He also puts on performances "Don't part with your loved ones" and "Three sisters".

Sergey thought little about acting, he was most attracted to directing. However, after the first invitation to play in the film by Alexei Uchitel "Walk", I realized that I was drawn into this role as well.
After meeting director Alexei Popoglebsky, Sergei's creative life changes dramatically. He not only took the actor for the main role in his film, but also beganactively recommend Puskepalis as a professional to his colleagues. So, on the recommendation of Popoglebsky, Sergei starred in Artyom Ivanov's film "An Attempt of Faith".
The beginning of the 2000s was marked by a literal breakthrough for Puskepalis into the elite ranks of Russian cinema. So, the film "How I Spent This Summer" did not go unnoticed, which was filmed in Chukotka, and after the release on the screens was nominated for prizes at the Berlin Film Festival.
The actor's work in the sensational disaster film "Metro", filmed in 2012 based on the work of Dmitry Safonov, became very significant. In it, the actor got the role of the wife of the heroine Svetlana Khodchenkova - Andrei Garin. The actor was nominated for the Golden Eagle award. He received the prize for the best male role.
In the same period, the actor starred in the series "Life and Fate", which is based on events against the backdrop of the Great Patriotic War. On the set, together with Sergey, there were such eminent actors as Sergey Makovetsky and Alexander Baluev.
The filmography of Sergei Puskepalis has also been replenished with his directorial debut - the film "Cry" (2015), based on the work of an old friend of Puskepalis - Alexei Slapovsky. The picture was noted by critics, received several prizes at Russian film festivals.
Private life
The first marriage of Sergei Puskepalis was a student, he married actress Elvira Danilina. It did not last long, the spouses did not give birth to children.
The second time the actor went down the aisle with his current wifeElena. According to Sergei Puskepalis, his personal life and family have always come first for him. Even despite the long absence from home, business trips, numerous shootings, he manages to help his wife in everyday life and in raising their only son Gleb.
The young man followed in his father's footsteps, graduated from the same RATI, took part in the filming. The family lives permanently in Zheleznovodsk.
