When Barack Obama decided to run for president in 2008, he needed a social program that was well thought out and well presented. The future president of the United States turned to a young entrepreneur, already known to us, Chris Hughes.

Chris steps back a bit from his work at Facebook, leaving a place for himself on the board of directors, and completely plunges into a new for him, but very interesting and exciting world of politics. Chris created an organization that, together (and that is how its name is translated), by combining resources, skills and abilities, helps humanity.

This project, as Hughes admits, is not a business model and he does not plan to make money on it. It was created to collect donations, as well as to bring together professionals from various fields to provide emergency care.

In 2012, Hughes also buys the well-known magazine The New Republic, published for over a hundred years. The publication broadcasts about American and world politics, and also touches on science and art. From a computer genius and technology mogul, no one expected such a purchase. But Hughes hopes that the funds invested in the magazine will pay off, and the publication will flourish and delight readers with high quality content.

Chris Hughes kept to his goal while taking care of the social program of the future president.
