PP-19 "Bizon" submachine gun: photo, characteristics, application

Weapons are classified according to many parameters: compactness, reliability, ease of use, purpose, etc. But despite the huge selection, there are models that have not lost their popularity over the years. The most popular among domestic production, of course, is the PP-19 "Bizon". This submachine gun has gained confidence among the military primarily due to its magazine capacity, which is twice as high as that of other samples.

The weapon easily carries both short and long bursts (up to 64 rounds). The accuracy of the pistol, which has only been used a few times, is excellent even at a distance of 100 meters. The recoil of the PP, like its mass, is small. A feature that slightly reduces ease of use is the shifted center of gravity - in this sample it is shifted forward.

The basis of the "Bizon" is the mechanism of the famous Kalashnikov assault rifle, and this is not surprising, because the development of this weapon was carried out by V. M. Kalashnikov, D. G. Dolganov, A. E. Dragunov and S. D. Gorbunov -sons of great gunsmiths and worthy successors of their fathers.

Differences of "Bizons"

The submachine gun PP-19 "Bizon" was developed in several variants that differ in parameters. The earliest and at the same time the most common PP is equipped with a brown handle. This development was pre-production, and was created to test the theoretical capabilities of weapons.

The next product was a modification - "Bizon-2". The latter is chambered for 9x18 PM and 9x18 PMM cartridges. All subsequent samples were created on the basis of this product. The option marked "B" provides for the possibility of silent firing. PP-2-01 is adapted for 9x19 cartridges. "Bizon-2-02" - under 9x17. Both options allow automatic fire.

"Bizon-2-03" is adapted for 9x18 cartridge, it is possible to conduct silent shooting. Three subsequent developments are classified as self-loading carbines, which use 9x18, 9x19 and 9x17 cartridges, respectively. A feature is the lack of the possibility of automatic fire.

The most optimal sample among PP

Weapons experts identify the best option - PP-19 "Bizon-2", which is adapted for 7, 62x25 TT cartridges. In this example, a box magazine can be used. The gun itself has a plastic handguard.

Bizon-3 is also popular. In this version, the butt folds up, the bolt handlealso located on top.

Based on existing weapons, engineers have created a 9-millimeter PP "Vityaz-SN". This device is actively used for arming special forces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other units. This modification has become popular among game designers as well.

Design and principle of operation of "Bizon"

PP-19 "Bizon" is more than half based on AK. For example, a receiver with a pistol grip and a trigger mechanism, a folding stock and a fire translator are identical to the parts of the AK-47.

The trigger mechanism of the machine gun is of the trigger type. Single shots are fired from a closed bolt. The rod is also a guiding element. The balance of the weapon has been improved due to the good placement of the rail.

One of the Bizon's modifications, the Vityaz launcher, is widely used by law enforcement agencies. This pistol is equipped with an unusual magazine, and the overall similarity to the AK is 70%. Two magazines are filled with different types of cartridges, which is very convenient for various operations within the city.

The automatic mechanism of the PP-19 "Bizon" is built on a free shutter (and in the no less popular AK - on the use of the power of powder gases). Before the shot, the shutter is in the extreme right position, and the speed of its movement is regulated by the mass.

The weight of "Bizons" does not exceed 2.9 kg (excluding cartridges). Do not forget about the weight of the equipped store - about 1 kg. The rate of fire of weapons is from 680 to 750 rounds per minute. The capacity of the screw magazine depends on the size of the cartridge and is 64 pieces (for 9x18) or 53 (for 9x19).

Additional features of the submachine gun

Experts highlight one of the most interesting parts of the weapon - the auger magazine. Features of its design are shown in the photo of the PP-19 "Bizon". The cartridges are placed in special screw grooves, in a spiral, parallel to the magazine axis. They are supplied by a spring. The latter, in turn, is cocked by rotating the handle, which is located at the end of the magazine.

The design of the store is made of impact-resistant plastic. Its successful location provides additional stability when shooting, and also does not increase the dimensions of the weapon and additionally performs the function of a forearm.

The lifting of cartridges into the neck of the magazine is provided by an inclined platform, which is located at the rear end of the outer surface of the auger. The cartridges are moved by a separator. The latter has 10 slots, ammo exit windows and special cutouts that interact with the latch when the magazine is loaded.

In addition to the generally accepted and well-known brands and versions of weapons, there are several more exclusive options: PP-19 "Bizon High Roller", airsoft gun and Silverback PP-19 "Bizon". Unfortunately, some of the developments are secret and not available to the public.
