Iosif Kobzon's disease: a terrible diagnosis and 13 years of successful fight against it

Back in 2005, stunning news spread all over the media: Iosif Kobzon is hopelessly ill, and doctors do not predict anything good for him. But, fortunately, Joseph Kobzon's illness was no stronger than himself. To this day, he is in a cheerful mood, although he was forced to end his musical career. How did the famous singer manage to defeat a terrible diagnosis after 13 years of hard struggle?

Biography and creativity of Kobzon

Iosif Kobzon has always stood out from other performers with some unbreakable calm, life-affirming repertoire and his own sense of dignity. The singer surprised with his stamina, because he had been performing on stage since 1956 and practically did not take breaks. Who else can boast of such experience?

The unknown young man from Donbass didn't get to big concert venues right away. He received his education at the Dnepropetrovsk Mining College. In youthwas into boxing. Then he served in the army for the entire term, as expected. It was there that he hit the stage for the first time as part of a song and dance ensemble attached to the Transcaucasian Military District. It was while performing with this group that Joseph first seriously thought about the career of a singer.

Then there was the Odessa Conservatory and all-Union glory. Surprisingly, Kobzon's lyric-dramatic baritone remained in demand even after the collapse of the USSR.

Iosif Kobzon's illness first made itself felt in 2002. The singer constantly felt unwell, and after the examination it turned out that he had prostate cancer.

The announced diagnosis shocked Kobzon: the singer did not even immediately decide to fight the disease. It seemed to him that the best thing he could do was spend the rest of his life with his family and stop touring. But his wife persuaded Iosif Davydovich to take up his mind, and in 2002 the first operation was performed, after which, unfortunately, the singer fell into a coma. It happened on June 15th. Kobzon stayed in a coma for exactly 15 days.

The singer underwent the next surgery in 2005 already in Germany. Iosif Kobzon, whose illness did not recede, this time was seriously determined to recover. And although the operation was allegedly successful, the immune system still could not withstand such a load. I had to recover not only after surgery, but also to be treated for pneumonia and infectious kidney disease, and a blood clot was found in the singer.lungs.

However, it did not take long to enjoy the results of treatment in a German clinic.

Kobzon became a regular patient of one of the Moscow medical centers. He was regularly observed by doctors in order to be aware of the state of his he alth. Truly, the singer did not spare money for all sorts of the latest examination methods. He even decided to undergo a positron emission tomography in October 2008. This examination method is considered relatively new and helps to identify tumors at the earliest stages, when they can be treated quickly.

A few days before the tomography, a complete blood purification was carried out - this procedure, according to some reports, costs several thousand dollars. A couple of hours before the examination, a radioactive substance was injected into Kobzon's veins, which is necessary to display the correct diagnostic results. Unfortunately, the worst fears came true, and in 2009 Kobzon was again lying on the operating table with German surgeons. Iosif Kobzon's illness receded after the second operation, but the vaunted pedantry of the German doctors summed it up: they poorly applied internal sutures.

And five days later (!) Kobzon was already in Latvia and performed at a song contest in Jurmala, and he worked "live". True, after the competition, the singer felt bad. In Moscow, Iosif Davydovich was taken to another cancer clinic for examination. It turned out that the stitches parted, and inflammation began.

After a quick examinationOn July 21, the singer was again laid on the operating table, but already in Moscow. The operation was successful, and a year later Kobzon again went on stage.

Iosif Kobzon, whose illness upset both the singer's colleagues and his fans, was not going to leave an active creative life. When the World Forum of Spiritual Culture was to be held in the hot capital of Kazakhstan, Kobzon agreed to take part in it. But the singer did not calculate his strength.

At first he fainted during the event, but he was quickly revived. When Kobzon lost consciousness right on stage for the second time, the team of doctors present at the forum had to give him artificial respiration. As a result of many surgeries, the artist developed anemia, and fainting became a habit for him.

Iosif Kobzon's illness seems to have receded. But the singer still decided to end his career, and in 2012, having celebrated his 75th birthday, he fulfilled his promise. After that, he only made an exception a few times and went on stage in front of the residents of Donbass, trying to express his support for his fellow countrymen in the form of humanitarian aid and his participation in important republican holidays.
