Northern and Southern rokadnaya road of the capital. History of the project implementation. What has been done today?

For ten years now, a large-scale change in the transport infrastructure has been going on in the Russian capital. The government plans two large chords in the north, including a grandiose ring road, many sections of which have already been put into operation. There are less than two years left to complete the work. In the south, this type of track will contain several punctures in different directions to connect important metropolitan routes. The name of the project refers to a military concept, but in this case it means a highway created directly, bypassing the center and major interchanges of the city.

Northeast movement. Start of the journey

The road that connects two chords (east and west) is called the Northern Rocade. It is a street of the main type of the first level with a constant process of car traffic. The highway consists of two sections with four lanes. As you move, the track narrows to threezones, and later up to two. The widest places are part of the northeast chord. A feature of the structure was the complete absence of transport interchanges.

Thus, the designers were able to increase throughput and eliminate the appearance of unnecessary cars. And in areas connected to major highways, including chords, everything will be part of one infrastructure. By 2010, construction work had resumed, and the organizers had already announced the readiness for operation of the section connecting Kozhukhovo and Kosino-Ukhtomskoye. Seven months later, a three-level road was completed, running parallel to the railway track. It has become an excellent alternative to Ryazansky Prospekt and Entuziastov Highway. In the area of Anosov Street, the Northern Rocade intersects with the fourth transport ring. Then the route will get to Budyonny Avenue and go to the tunnel to connect with the chord.

North today

At the moment, traffic on this project is already open up to Festivalnaya Street itself, including the interchange located in this area.

It is worth noting that after the section was put into operation at the end of last year, the situation on the Moscow-Sheremetyevo highway has significantly improved. The road was under construction for about two years. The entire complex of structures consists of 8 kilometers of highways, including reconstructed ones, and four and a half kilometers of overpasses in the amount of nineteen pieces. As they progressed, the employees of the developer company were engaged in putting in order the nearby andadjacent streets, underground passages created for pedestrians, installation of specialized screens with a soundproofing effect. In the spring of this year, the construction of the next section was launched. Rokada, the northern scheme of which is shown below, according to this project, will run to Shchelkovskoye Highway, and will begin in the Izmailovsky area.

Infrastructure of the south. Development history

The main purpose of the construction of the highway is to connect two major highways - Kashirskoye and Varshavskoye. Without such a connection, it is problematic to reach them not only during prime time, but also during quieter periods of the day. At the moment, you can get to transport facilities through a tunnel in the area of the fork or in the immediate vicinity of the fourth transport ring. The fulfillment of the project goal includes not only the construction of such an object as the South Rocade, but also the improvement of the infrastructure of adjacent streets.

At the moment, five sections have been put into operation, a span from Varshavskoye Highway to Proletarsky Prospekt and two grand interchanges are under construction. The completion of the multi-kilometer road from Rublevsky Highway to Balaklavsky Prospekt took place at the very beginning of 2014. The new transport formation was tested throughout the year. The leadership of the capital call it quite successful.

Two largest flyovers

The Southern Rocade project started in 2010. Since then, a huge number of steps have been taken in this direction andseveral laborious steps. This is especially true of two large flyovers - Michurinskaya and Rublevskaya.

The first one moves along the avenue of the same name, has six lanes wide and more than three hundred and fifty meters long. The second one has the same number of zones for cars, twice the length of the Michurinskaya overpass, and with entrances and branchings, it practically reaches one thousand kilometers. In addition, protective screens have been added to the roadway in this section.

No traffic lights

After the commissioning of the planned pedestrian-type underground crossings along the entire length of the new highway Rublevskoye Highway - Balaklavsky Prospekt, automatic traffic controllers disappeared. There will be eight underground structures in total. Thus, the ring road will be able to increase the capacity by an order of magnitude and reduce the factors that hinder the unloading of the transport infrastructure.

Status today

At the moment, the general contractor has already been selected, who will be engaged in the construction of the section from Balaklavsky to Proletarsky Prospekt.

The project program for the upcoming work includes the construction of two and a half kilometers of sidewalks and the same number of new routes, plus three and a half kilometers of reconstruction. In addition, 3 elevated pedestrian crossings, a tunnel, an overpass and two bridges across the river will be built here. This is exactly what the Southern Rocade will look like on this section. Construction timeso far date back to 2017, but may be pushed back to a later time.
