Amanita stink is one of the most dangerous mushrooms growing on the territory of the Russian Federation. By eating it, a person will receive a lethal dose of toxins, which will lead to sad consequences. To avoid this, the mushroom picker must clearly understand what his enemy looks like and how not to confuse him with other, edible mushrooms.
Smelly Amanita: description
In common parlance, this fungus is better known as the white toadstool. This fly agaric grows almost throughout the Russian Federation. At the same time, preference is given to swampy areas, with dense deciduous forests. But it can also be found on sandstones, among evergreen pines and spruces.
With sufficient moisture and warmth, it begins to sprout from the ground in late spring or early summer. Worst of all, the fungus looks like many members of the mushroom family. Because of this, there is a great risk that an inexperienced mushroom picker will take it instead of an edible relative.
Appearance
In truth, smelly fly agaric stands out from the rest of the inhabitants of the mushroom kingdom. Therefore, if you know the features of the structure, it will be impossible to confuse it with edible relatives. So, first of all, he has a pale shade of the body, for which, in fact, he was nicknamed the "white toadstool." A similar color indirectly hints at the fact that the pulp of the fly agaric is soaked through with heavy metals and toxins.
Amanita has a hat of the correct form. In the initial stages, it is wrapped down, but as the fungus becomes sexually mature, it levels off. At the same time, the average diameter of the cap in adults reaches 10-12 cm. From below, the smelly fly agaric is covered with a dense row of white plates. It is they that contain the spores of the fungus, which will later become the seeds for a new generation.
The hat itself rests on a high thin stem. She is notable for having a small white "skirt" on her. It can be located both in the middle and on top of the leg, which immediately catches the eye.
Special white toadstool juice
Many mushroom pickers are familiar with one feature by which you can easily distinguish smelly fly agaric. A poisonous mushroom always secretes a special secret, gradually accumulating on the surface of its cap. You can almost always see it, except for the hottest periods, when the grebe loses most of the moisture from its body.
The rest of the time this "juice" shows through well on its surface. At the same time, it emits a fetid odor, which is needed to attract insects. For a person, such a fragrance should become an alarm signal that cansave him from a rash decision.
Toadstool poisoning: symptoms
The first signs of fly agaric poisoning appear half an hour after they have been consumed. It all starts with a strong sweat that flows down the face in hail. The reason for this is a sharp increase in temperature, up to the heat.
After 30-40 minutes, the stomach is affected by severe pain, as if something sharp is pricking into its walls. Following this, attacks of vomiting begin, which cannot be stopped by anything. If at this stage a person is not provided with medical assistance, then muscle cramps will begin to appear throughout the body. If left untreated, the poisoning will end in a deep coma, after which all organs fail. In most cases, a person dies before he can get out of it.
The worst thing is that sometimes the effect of toxins on the body can occur in a latent form. That is, they will continuously corrode the cells of the liver and kidneys, but at this time a person feels only a slight malaise and nausea. In this case, the patient most often ends up in the hospital already when the only solution is a transplant of donor organs.
How to help with poisoning?
The best solution would be to call an ambulance or take the patient to the nearest hospital. There he will undergo the following procedures:
- First of all, they will wash the stomach in order to clear it of the remnants of mushrooms.
- Next, a dropper is placed with a drug that removes toxins from the body.
- And finallythe patient is credited with a course of vitamins that can quickly put him on his feet.
Precautions
First of all, you need to do everything possible so that the smelly fly agaric does not get into the wallet. A photo of this mushroom should be shown to children, as they may inadvertently start playing with it. It should be understood that even a simple contact with a white toadstool leaves deadly toxins on the hands. Not to mention that the spores of the fungus easily rise into the air, thereby posing a real threat to the human respiratory system.
