In addition, the gigantic size provides the ship with greater stability, which makes it safer, although it reduces speed. However, humanity has not stopped building the largest ships. And this is not surprising.

The largest ships in the world - this is a kind of rating of giant watercraft, and divided into categories (depending on the purpose). Such a list of record holders is constantly updated thanks to technological innovations and the ability to build more and more advanced, powerful ships of huge sizes.

The largest oil-carrying ships in this ranking are the Xin Buyan tanker. This is a Chinese-made vessel, recently launched. It has fantastic dimensions - 333 meters long and 60 meters wide. The tonnage of the ship is 308 tons. In addition to the record size, it has state-of-the-art electronic equipment. However, why be surprised - China, despite some global skepticism, is already a leading industrial power with advanced technologies.

The largest ships among bulk carriers engaged in container transportation are the Danish ship Emma Maersk. Until now, this ship in its category is the largest in length - 397 meters, with a deck width of 56 meters. In addition, it has not only a solid displacement of 171 tons, but also the world's largest diesel engine.

The largest military ships in the world are the American "grandfather" - the aircraft carrier "Enterprise", which is to this day an active combat ship (335, 8 metersdeck length) and the pride of the most democratic state in the world, and the world's largest non-aircraft-carrying Russian nuclear missile cruiser "Peter the Great".
