Primorye is famous for its untouched and almost wild nature, vast terrain. A huge number of amazing rivers flow here - Amgu, Arsenyevka, Kievka, Samarga, Tigrovaya, Ussuri and others. Armu River
Armu is a major tributary of the Bolshaya Ussurka, about two hundred kilometers long. The main part of its basin is located on the territory of the Krasnoarmeisky district in the Primorsky Territory. Two hundred and eighty tributaries flow into Armu, the total length of which is more than five hundred kilometers. The main ones are Abundant, Valinka, Nettle, Lyutinka and Mikula.
The river has a rather winding valley, which in the lower reaches expands to eighty meters and deepens to three, while the speed of the flow is up to ten kilometers per hour. In winter, Armu is solid ice, whichappears in November and melts only at the end of spring.
The vast areas adjacent to the river are filled with magnificent nature. The queen taiga here is rich in cedar, birch, fir, and larch. Among the largest animals there are such as roe deer, wild boar, red deer, tiger and bear. Among the birds that inhabit the local open spaces, there are even those included in the Red Book.
River fishing
The Armu River is the pearl of the Sikhote-Alin. Not only its shores are full of various animals, but also the waters carry many kinds of fish. These are grayling, and taimen, and lenok, trout and others. Due to the desertedness and almost uninhabited of these places, fishing becomes even more unforgettable and is famous even among the most demanding anglers. Moreover, you can fish here all year round. Every year, fishing competitions are held on the river, which have already become traditional.
Armu is a typical mountain river with rocks and lots of holes. However, the local population has known for a long time how to choose the right area for rafting with the highest saturation with fish. Avid anglers are not afraid of either the weather or other vagaries of the elements. But getting to the river is not so easy. Due to heavy rains, the dirt road is washed out and becomes impassable. However, this is not a barrier for real fishermen.

History of the Udege
For a long time, the territory along the river belonged to the Udege tribes. Their worldview was in complete contact with the surrounding wildlife. For people living in the area where the Armu River is located, belief is closely connected with the veneration of such animals as the tiger, ermine, bear. They played the role of totems for the locals. It should be noted that these customs have been preserved among the Udege to this day.
The folklore of the tribe has always been based on historical events, tribal traditions, shamanic myths and legends, as well as diverse stories about mountains, lakes, rivers and other natural attractions.
