Among several Ukrainian political scientists who have practically signed up for Russian political talk shows, Vadim Tryukhan is perhaps not the brightest person. Nevertheless, he managed to find his niche among the experts who justify any steps of his government. On programs where the main thing is not a logical argument, but an emotional discussion with an opponent, Tryukhan plays by the accepted rules.

Short biography

Vadim Valeryevich Tryukhan was born on January 9, 1972 in the small village of Piskoshino, located in the Zaporozhye region of Ukraine. He studied well in high school, but failed to enter Moscow State University. He studied at the Kharkov Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations, from which he graduated with honors. He received the speci alty "referent-translator", specialized in the Croatian language. He also knows English and, of course, Russian. He received additional education at the German College of International Security and at the courses of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine.

Vadim Tryukhan's career began in the public service. From 1997 to 2011, he worked in various positions in the system of the diplomatic service of Ukraine. He went through many stages in the official hierarchy, worked in various departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including the Secretariat of the State Secretary for European Integration. For some time he worked in the Presidential Administration, where he also de alt with foreign policy issues. In 2011, he was appointed Ambassador-at-Large, in 2013 - Director of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations at the Ministry of Agriculture of the country. Since 2015, he has been working as the chairman of the board of the European Choice of Ukraine public organization and is the deputy chairman of the political council of the Power of People party

Vadim Tryukhan is currently divorced and has two children - a son and a daughter.

On Russian TV

As a political scientist, Vadim Tryukhan became famous after the outbreak of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, when all political Russian talk shows began to invite Ukrainian experts. Every day there was at least one program on state channels where they discussed the situation in Ukraine. The experts of this country have practically settled in the Russian capital, wandering from transmission to transmission.

At first, while positioning himself as a former diplomat, Tryukhan was rather reserved. However, adapting to the format of the programs, now he is an unconditional supporter of the Ukrainian authorities. Political scientist justifiesalmost all actions of the government and the president. Tryukhan finds excuses even on issues such as the glorification of the OUN-UPA and torchlight processions. According to the Ukrainian expert, what is happening in his country is assessed too critically.

Everyone remembers the incident on the day of mourning for those killed in the Sochi plane crash. To honor the memory of the dead, everyone stood up in the TV studio, except for Vadim Tryukhan, who said that he did not understand why he was standing up. For this, he was later taken out of the studio.

What happens behind the scenes of the talk show

Various publications write that on television broadcasts, speakers prepare a speech in advance. And everyone should speak only in accordance with the script and adhere to a predetermined position on each issue. According to Vadim Tryukhan, this is not true. A former diplomat said that this can happen on low-rated programs. However, on political talk shows on federal Russian channels, where he speaks, Ukrainian guests say only what they see fit.

In his opinion, on such popular programs as, for example, "Sunday Evening with Solovyov", "Duel" and "60 Minutes", everything happens naturally. And the Russian hosts are behaving quite fairly.

Attitude of colleagues

Vadim Tryukhan from Ukraine believes that the attitude of Russian talk show participants towards him is quite normal. Of course, taking into account the existing aggravation between the countries.
