We have seen this more than once in films and books, but we have little thought about the fact that such phenomena are true. The hero of our story has absorbed 24 "foreign" personalities, his name is Billy Milligan. Pictures of the criminal, whose guilt was never proven, received no less publicity than his story itself. Why? Let's try to figure it out further, and at the same time remember the bright moments from his biography.

Rooted in childhood

Milligan was born in 1955 in Miami Beach. His family is the most ordinary people who moved from the countryside and settled in Florida. Billy Milligan was the middle child in the family. Before him, his parents had a son, Jimbo, and after that, a daughter, Cathy Jo.

Soon, the mother officially sealed the relationship with this man, and Billy began a black streak in his life. Chalmer was a pervert. When his stepson was 8 years old, he tied him up in a barn and brutally abused him. Billy confessed to the rape, a case was opened against his stepfather. Against the background of general stress, the first personalities of Billy Milligan began to appear.

At first he did not attach much importance to this, but he realized that something incomprehensible was happening to him. For the robbery of a pharmacy, which is more of a teenage hooligan motive, he was placed under arrest and soon released. In the same year, he raped three women using weapons. During the study, the experts had no doubt: a split personality arose from the moment of bullying by the stepfather.

In 1978, an incredible event in history caused a public outcry, the main character of which was the American Billy Milligan. Since none of his relatives wanted to deal with him, he was sent to a nursing home, where he died in 2014.

In addition to children's images, the canvases contain portraits of empresses and ordinary people whose names are unknown.

For society, Billy became a victim of violence. On the one hand, it is impossible not to feel compassion for him, on the other hand, it was this terrible event from the past that opened the gift of an artist in him. Funds from them were transferred to the Child Abuse Fund, which Billy managed to organize in recent years while he was in a nursing home.

Assessing the artworks of Milligan, experts do not deny that they are quite professional. Each picture is sustained in a different manner, with a different mood and message. All of them are united by calm, non-provocative and non-irritating tones. Pictures with animals are considered especially successful. Undoubtedly, the psychological trauma from childhood took a huge toll on Billy's he alth. But at the same time, she discovered a new genius - after all, if everything had turned out differently, the world would not have recognized the talented artist.
