Biography

Vyacheslav Alekseevich Bocharov was born on 1955-17-10 in the city of Donskoy, Tula region. He spent his childhood in Ukraine, in the city of Sinelnikovo. In 1973 he graduated from high school and entered the Ryazan Airborne School. Upon graduation in 1977, he served in the Lithuanian SSR, was the commander of a training platoon at the ensign school.

In 1981-1983 Vyacheslav Alekseevich participated in military operations in Afghanistan. He was deputy commander of a reconnaissance company in the 103rd Airborne Division. Once, together with a group of fourteen paratroopers, he was ambushed by terrorists. In battle, senior lieutenant Bocharov was shot in the legs, but inimmobilized, he continued to command the guards. In a few hours, the paratroopers managed to repulse the attacks of the militants, inflict serious losses on them and break out of the encirclement.

Further service

On his return from Afghanistan, Vyacheslav Alekseevich Bocharov served in the 106th Tula airborne division. In 1990 he graduated from the Military Academy. Frunze in Moscow and received the post of chief of staff of the parachute regiment. Since 1993, he served in the Office of the Commander of the Airborne Forces. In 1998, Vyacheslav Alekseevich was invited to the newly created FSB Special Forces Center and enrolled in the legendary Vympel. In 2000, the serviceman graduated from the Academy of National Economy in absentia.

Bocharov took part in two Chechen wars. During the second counter-terrorist operation, he participated in repelling the invasion of Ingushetia by Chechen fighters. During the fighting he was wounded again.

2004-01-09 A criminal group of thirty-two terrorists seized a school in Beslan, North Ossetia. Hundreds of children and adults were taken hostage. Colonel Vyacheslav Alekseevich Bocharov with his unit immediately arrived at the scene. On the third day of the capture, when explosions thundered at the school, which provoked a fire and a partial collapse of the building, Bocharov's group and other special forces units were thrown into a spontaneous assault. Vyacheslav Alekseevich was the first of the FSB officers to break into the school and personally destroyseveral militants. He was wounded, but continued to fight. Vympel fighters not only carried out the elimination of terrorists, but also evacuated hostages from the building.

Soon, Bocharov received a second wound, this time a severe one. The bullet under the left ear entered the head and exited under the left eye. The colonel had a crushed skull and brain damage. With a mutilated face, he was carried out of the school unconscious and could not even determine who it was. Vyacheslav Alekseevich was on the list of missing persons, in a number of publications he was called dead. But a few days later, the officer came to his senses and wrote his last name to the doctors on paper.

After recovery

It's hard to imagine how, after receiving such an injury that Bocharov had, one can live at all, and not just continue to be a soldier. But the unbending spirit helped him get out!

Vyacheslav Alekseevich recovered and continued his service in the FSB Special Forces Center. Until October 2010, he served as deputy head of the operational and combat department of Vympel, and then resigned. In 2014 he became a member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, since 2015 he has been the first deputy secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, and in April 2017 he received the position of secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.

Now Vyacheslav Alekseevich Bocharov is engaged in active social and veteran work, and also conducts patriotic education of the population and youth. He is the president of the "Soldiers of the 21st century against wars" fund and the secretary of the Russian Association of Heroes of the USSR and the Russian Federation. In addition, he holds the positions of Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Unionveterans of Afghanistan and the deputy chairman of the Children's Fund. In 2018, he was a confidant of V. Putin in the presidential elections.

11.10.2004 Vyacheslav Bocharov was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation and the Golden Star for heroism and courage shown during the performance of a special task. He is also the owner of the Order of Military Merit, the Order of the Red Star and the Order of the DRA "Star" of the third degree. He was awarded the medals "For Courage", "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the first and second degrees and the distinction "For Impeccable Service".

In 2007 Hero of Russia Vyacheslav Alekseevich Bocharov received the honorary title of the International Children's Fund "Childhood Knight". In the same year, the Regional Development Fund awarded him the "Hero of Our Time" award. In 2008, the officer became a laureate of the international patriotic action "There is such a profession - to defend the Motherland." In 2009, the administration of the city of Donskoy, where Bocharov was born, awarded him the title of honorary citizen. In 2014, Vyacheslav Alekseevich was awarded the prize of the V. Vysotsky Foundation "Own Track".
