Russian swimmer Alexander Leonidovich Sukhorukov was born on February 22, 1988 in Ukhta, Komi Republic. Alexander owes his first appearance in the pool to his mother. Svetlana Vasilievna Sukhorukova, an experienced swimming instructor, trains children in the city's Yunost swimming pool. When Sasha was not yet a year old, she took him to the pool and hardened him in a small bath. There he learned to swim. The talent of a swimmer manifested itself from an early age. First success in swimming

Alexander Sukhorukov made the decision to move from the usual general education institution where he studied to the Ukhta sports school on his own. It happened in seventh grade. The boy was literally delirious with the desire to become a champion, spending a lot of time inpool. Physically very strong since childhood, Alexander was determined to win. Having fallen into the hands of the wonderful coach Sergei Petrovich Fedorov and largely thanks to him, the future champion began to win his first awards.

Step by step, Alexander Sukhorukov moved towards his dream. The swimmer, starting from the age of 11, more than once became the winner and prize-winner at the championships and championships of the Republic of Komi among boys in his age group. He was particularly good at short-distance swims thanks to his good sprinting ability.

Already in 2002, Alexander Sukhorukov received the title of Candidate Master of Sports of Russia.

Playing for the national team

Alexander Sukhorukov is a swimmer who stood out among his peers. His success has not gone unnoticed. In 2004, Alexander was invited to the national team of the Russian Federation. The first competition in the Russian team, in which the athlete took part, was the European Swimming Championship in Spanish Palma de Mallorca in 2006.

Sukhorukov is a five-time champion of Russia, as well as a multiple record holder of the Russian Federation and Europe.
