The first major success came to Alexei Evgenievich Repik in 2006, when R-Pharm managed to become a major player in the Russian drug market. His company won bids to supply expensive drugs through the National Drug Supplement Program, which provided eligible citizens with prescription drugs that the government paid the bills for. R-Pharm was chosen as a supplier for several positions: medicines for hemophilia, oncology, diabetes and multiple sclerosis.

Repik has a 90% stake. According to Mitsui (quarterly report), the corporation paid 22 billion yen (which is approximately 196 million US dollars at the closing date).

In the same year, the pharmaceutical tycoon first entered the list of the richest businessmen in Russia according to Forbes magazine. In 2018, he took 47th place in the prestigious ranking. Experts estimated the fortune of Alexei Evgenievich Repik at $2,100 million.

In the Russian rating "Kings of the state order" ("Forbes - 2018"), the businessman took 14th place with the volume of state orders in the amount of about 34 billion rubles.
