Today, Kaspersky Anti-Virus is the most famous brand in Russia, which is used by millions of people who use computers for a variety of purposes. It is not difficult to guess that a man named Kaspersky came up with a product designed to destroy worms and Trojans. And his name is Eugene. Having created Kaspersky Anti-Virus, he turned into one of the main virus traps in the country. Naturally, the program he once developed, which is regularly updated, brought him enormous profits. Often, we althy people fall into the field of view of intruders. The scheme of their crime is as old as the world. They kidnap their relatives for ransom. The son of Evgeny, Ivan Kaspersky, did not escape this fate. The young man was valued by criminals at 3 million rubles. This high-profile illegal act became the 1 topic in popular periodicals.
But, before moving on to how Ivan Kaspersky was kidnapped and who is guilty of this high-profile crime, a few words about the son of a millionaire.
Regularyoung man
It is known that he is the youngest child born in marriage with Natalya Kasperskaya. Ivan was born in 1991 and was twenty at the time of the abduction. He lived the ordinary life of a modern youth. He spent a lot of time with his peers, spent hours talking on social networks. In addition, Ivan Kaspersky, whose biography is little known, met a girl, whom he later married. In general, this is how millions of young people live.
Indiscretion cost a lot
Everything would be nothing but one detail. Ivan Kaspersky, who spent a lot of time in the virtual world, saw nothing wrong with leaving his coordinates online.
The attackers took advantage of this. With the modern development of technology, today you can find out not only the address and phone number of a particular person, but also the place of work of his parents.
Spying
Some time later, Ivan Kaspersky, whose photo immediately appeared on the pages of the press after the news of his abduction, was chosen by the attackers as a victim. They were the son and father of Saveliev, Oleg Mayukov and Semyon Gromov. In addition, ex-employee of the law enforcement agency Alexei Ustimchuk turned out to be an accomplice in this high-profile case. The latter, however, agreed to cooperate with the investigating authorities, for which he received a reduced sentence. So, the criminals began to collect information about the son of a millionaire, who was a student at Moscow State University (Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics). The kidnappers conducted regular surveillance of the young man, who at that timerented an apartment with a girl Ekaterina in the North-West Administrative District of the capital. Soon they already knew in detail the whole daily routine of the young man.
Ivan Kaspersky, whose personal life was under surveillance, and could not imagine that they were going to kidnap him in the courtyard of his own house.
Criminals change plan
But the attackers changed their minds about committing a crime in the yard. They were alerted, firstly, by the nearby police stronghold, and, secondly, by surveillance cameras. Yes, and in the yard people were constantly scurrying back and forth. As a result, it was decided that Ivan Kaspersky would be kidnapped elsewhere. Where exactly? The criminals chose an industrial area located near the Info-Watch office. It was a relatively deserted place, from which it was a stone's throw to the Moscow Ring Road. The intruders' calculation was simple: if the riot police figured them out and began to pursue them, it would be easier for them to get lost in the suburbs.
Goal achieved
Now the attackers had no doubt that they would have in their hands the offspring of a millionaire - Ivan Kaspersky. The kidnapping happened in the morning when the young man was walking to his place of work (mother's office). The kidnappers, namely Mayukov and Gromov, blocked the path of the young man and forced him into the car.
Ivan was taken for a long time through the streets of the capital so that the police could not get on the trail of criminals. Then they transferred the young man to another car and headed towards the exit from the city. Then the attackers demanded from the youngKaspersky, so that he called first his mother and then his father and told them that he had been kidnapped. Ivan's parent was in the British capital at that time, and the news about his offspring forced him to urgently fly to Moscow. Yevgeny Valentinovich, despite the categorical prohibitions of the attackers, immediately turned to law enforcement agencies and stated that his son, Ivan Kaspersky, was a victim of a crime.
And in parallel with this, the Savelyevs, together with accomplices, arrived in the Sergiev Posad district of the Moscow region (Grove garden association), where they rented a private house in advance and forcibly placed the kidnapped young man in a building that served as a bathhouse. The victim was kept handcuffed in an unheated room.
The humanism of the kidnappers
And what did Ivan Kaspersky feel at the moment when he was kept in the bath? Interesting facts about his stay in captivity were reported by the young man himself. He noted that the criminals treated him quite friendly. The young man was given food and even a book was brought to him so that he would have something to do.
At the same time, the kidnappers reassured the young man that, they say, he was in the bathhouse temporarily and, after some time, he would be returned safe and sound. But in order for this to happen, they demanded a ransom of 3 million euros from the creator of Kaspersky Anti-Virus. Ivan Kaspersky spent five whole days in prison, interesting facts from whose life after his release were savored by many newspapers of the capital. But the thieves could not get the money, because the special servicesworked competently and professionally.
Detention operation
It took law enforcement officers several days to get on the trail of the kidnappers. They repeatedly called Ivan's mother and father, reminding them of the ransom. It is not difficult to guess that the location helped determine the mobile phone signal. After that, it was decided to conduct an operation to free the son of a millionaire, in which representatives of the Moscow criminal investigation department and FSB officers took part.
After another call from the criminals, at the insistence of the police, Yevgeny Valentinovich agreed to pay a ransom for his son. They were handed over to the courier, who was supposed to meet with the intruders. The detention occurred at the moment when the whole gang went for a ransom. The car on which the thieves were traveling was stopped by the traffic police. In parallel with this, another group of operatives was engaged in the release of Ivan, who was guarded by one of the criminals, but the victim was not injured. As a result, the criminals were handcuffed and already in the department they were charged with extortion and kidnapping.
Distribution of roles
The detectives also found out how the roles were distributed in the gang. The organizers of the crime were Saveliev's son and father. Their accomplices were acquaintances of Savelyev Jr.: Semyon Gromov, former "Chekist" Alexei Ustimchuk and his neighbor Oleg Mayukov. During the preliminary investigation, senior Savelyev and Semyon Gromov confessed to kidnapping IvanKaspersky. As for Mayukov, he stated that Ustimchuk persuaded him to commit the crime. The role of the latter in this criminal story is quite significant. It was the former intelligence officer who colluded with the Savelyevs. He was instructed to buy three foreign cars and two dozen mobile phones with anonymous operator contracts.
Kara
The criminal case on the kidnapping of the son of the developer of Kaspersky Anti-Virus was considered in the summer of 2013.
All members of the criminal gang were sentenced to real prison terms. In particular, Savelyev Sr. received 11 years, his son - a year less. Oleg Mayukov will sit down for 7 years. Semyon Gromov will go to jail for 9 years. But Aleksey Ustimchuk received the least - 4.5 years, because even at the stage of the preliminary investigation he agreed to actively cooperate with the investigation.
To the question asked to Savelyev Sr. about why he needed such a large amount, he replied: “The money was needed for treatment.” But, as it turned out later, the organizer of the crime did not suffer from any serious he alth disorders. The tactics of criminal behavior were explained by the younger Savelyev simply: "I was forced to be close to my father, because I did not want him to be prosecuted." All convicts went to serve their sentences in a strict regime colony.
