Until 2014, trains from Moscow and various cities of Ukraine ran to the Sevastopol railway station. For five years now, only electric trains from neighboring Simferopol have been going to it. In addition, the bus station and the seaport can be attributed to the stations of Sevastopol. Let's analyze the properties of each of them below.

If you go by train

The first station in Sevastopol appeared in 1875. It was badly damaged during the Second World War, so in 1950 a modern building was opened. At first, a monument to Stalin stood in front of it, and after dismantling, a fountain was built. In 2014, railway communication with Ukraine and Moscow through its territory was stopped. Since then, the “single ticket” system has been operating with Russia, that is, by bus from Sevastopol to the Kerch Strait crossing, and then by ferry to the Taman Peninsula and the same bus to Krasnodar, where you can transfer to trains to different cities of Russia.

Interestingly, the railway in front of it contains six tunnels, two of which are within the city. You can admire these tunnels from the window of the train, which departs from the station of Sevastopol fourtimes a day. Therefore, you can choose a convenient time. The current schedule of the Sevastopol station is as follows:

  1. 05:20.
  2. 08:30.
  3. 12:20.
  4. 17:50.

Trip to Simferopol takes 1 hour and 50 minutes. The ticket costs 118 rubles. The distance between cities is 80 kilometers. Therefore, the tariff is 1.5 rubles per kilometer. This is more expensive than tariffs in Ukraine and Belarus.

In the opposite direction, from Simferopol to Sevastopol, suburban trains depart according to the following schedule:

  1. 05:25.
  2. 08:30.
  3. 15:00.
  4. 17:50.

Since 2014, electric trains in Crimea have been owned by the Crimean Railway as part of Roszheldor, and before that they were part of the Dnieper Railway of Ukraine.
