Khovrinsky Abandoned Hospital (KhZB) is a building located in the Northern District of Moscow, in the Khovrino district. Not far from the hospital there is a railway station located on the road leading to St. Petersburg.
History of Creation
The hospital was first mentioned in 1979. However, construction began only in 1980. The authors of the project were I. Ya. Yadrov, I. Kosnikova, K. Knyazeva, A. Saukke, A. Moiseenko and N. Pokrovskaya. The Khovrin hospital was built under the strict guidance of I. A. Tsfas, E. Antonov, V. Paikov and L. Krylyshkin. Five years later, in 1985, the construction was stopped. For thirty years, the building has been unfinished and is considered abandoned.
According to some reports, the construction of the hospital was located on the site of an old cemetery. At the very beginning of construction work, the ground was concreted. The unfinished hospital in Khovrino was closed before all work was completed: the exterior of the building was completely ready, only the interior layout remained.
The true reasons for stopping construction are still classified as "secret". However, there are severalversions:
- The Department of Property of the City of Moscow did not register ownership of this object.
- According to the mistakes of geologists, the building was built over an underground river, so it began to go underground.
- Design errors. Unstable ground causes the building to sink.
- Lack of funding.
What actually influenced the closure of the hospital is unknown. At first, the object was guarded and considered "strategically important", but after a while it became completely abandoned.
Structure and appearance
The Khovrin hospital has a very unusual layout and has two buildings. The main one is built in the form of a three-beam star with six branches at the ends. These three wings are connected in the middle. If you look at the object from above, the construction of the building resembles the Biohazard sign (“biological hazard”). The main building has eleven floors and a three-level roof.
The second building was an ophthalmic one. It consists of three floors, where the mortuary and crematorium were located.
The basement of the building is very large and goes four stories deep. To date, it is partially flooded with water, which does not leave either in winter or in summer. Despite the temperature, the water is always covered with a thick layer of ice.
According to the project, the Khovrina hospital contained several ambulances and its own helipad. Due to the cessation of construction in the building, interfloor ceilings remained unfinished, partitions and some fragments of walls are missing. According to experts, by 2015 the hospital had gone underground by 12 meters. And the first floor, located at the level of the road, sank much lower. In addition, cracks began to form on the walls of the building.
Nemostor sect
The unfinished hospital in Khovrino was guarded by the military for a whole year after the construction was frozen. When they left the area, thrill-seekers became interested in the building. And the first of these were Satanists. Their sect was called Nemostor.
It is believed that Satanists gathered in the hospital for black masses. They took place in the walls of the basement, where there were no windows and where sunlight did not penetrate. They arranged their sanctuary and built a kind of church, where they offered human sacrifices. In addition, Satanists staged dark rituals and massive orgies.
In the late 80s - early 90s of the twentieth century, cases of missing people became more frequent in the Khovrino region. Disappeared not only citizens without a fixed place of residence, but also children, teenagers, and animals. It was believed that all the missing were sacrificed to Satan, so they were sent to the furnace and burned. The abandoned hospital in Khovrino keeps two such furnaces and satanic churches in its basement that were not flooded with water.
The sectarians did not operate for long. When local law enforcement agencies learned about the sect, an order was received to put the hospital building in order. The OMON detachment stormed the object, but the Satanists were not going to give up. Then there are two versions of events:
- Cultists were caught. They were not taken to the department, but shot in the basement, after which they filled it with water.
- The cultists resisted, but they were driven into a tunnel in the basement. Further, the OMON detachment blew up the tunnel from both sides and flooded it with water. As a result, the Satanists drowned.
These are the events, according to rumors, took place in the Khovrino area. The hospital (photo below) was temporarily empty, taking the lives of Satanists in a terrible basement.
Black Masses of Satanists
Mass is the main Christian and Catholic ritual of worship. The Black Mass is an anti-Christian ceremony or a satanic type of ritual.
Satanists who performed black masses desecrated Christian symbols. For example:
- Black candles were placed instead of white ones.
- The cross was turned over.
- Used a six-pointed star.
- Mushrooms, which have a narcotic effect, were burned on the altar in order to achieve a hazy state as quickly as possible.
- The leader of the sect read sermons and praised Satan.
- Read the prayers in reverse order.
- Cursed the Christian religion and Jesus.
The leader threw the cross with the crucified Jesus on the ground, and the sectarians tried in every possible way to desecrate it. It all ended in a mass orgy, and the Satanists were in a "trance".
Name from stalkers
Stalkers is an English word, translated as "hunter". This term was coined by the Strugatsky brothers to meanprofessionals who lead people to forbidden areas or forbidden objects (the Strugatsky brothers are science fiction writers from the Soviet Union).
Since the hospital building is considered unusable, it is better not to appear there without experienced stalkers. They know all the dangerous places and will help to avoid an accident. It is because the abandoned hospital in Khovrino, or rather its structure, resembles a “biochemical hazard” sign that stalkers called it Umbrella.
In Umbrella, not only were there sacrifices, but there were cases of murder and even suicide. The hospital has not become a place where lives are saved, it has become a place that takes these lives. She took lives because of faith, chance or unrequited love.
Umbrella - neuropsychiatric hospital
Psychoneurology is a branch of psychiatry and neuropathology that studies neuroses. Neurosis is a group of mental illnesses.
Psycho-neurological hospital in Khovrino was supposed to be the largest in the district. The building was designed for 1300 seats. Everything was already ready: plumbing was in place, pipes were laid without flaws, glass and frames were inserted, and signs hung on the doors. The rest still had a lot of work to do. In addition, furniture and equipment were imported into some offices.
When the project was frozen, guards were posted around the perimeter of the hospital. For a year the building was under strict control, and after that it became useless. It was then that looting began on the part of the population. They took away plumbing, removed tiles and glass, handed over pipesfor scrap.
The hospital was supposed to save lives, treat children. More than 1000 patients could change their lives and improve their he alth, but this was not given to come true. Thus, the children's psycho-neurological hospital in Khovrino could help children, but now, on the contrary, it is taking their lives.
Myths and legends about Khovrinsky hospital
There are a lot of legends surrounding the hospital building. Here are some of them:

In addition to her dog, there were corpses of other dogs. With the "evidence" she went to the local authorities, a criminal case was initiated. A few days later, my grandmother went to Khovrino and fell into a trap. Having broken both of her legs, she died a long and painful death.

Children's Hospital (Khovrino): our days
Despite strict controls, theAnother sect of Satanists settled in the hospital. They are not afraid of the terrible fate of their predecessors. They perform their rituals in the very middle of the building - on the fifth floor, they gather after sunset and do not use human sacrifices.
After numerous murders in the hospital building, observation points and guards were placed around the perimeter of the territory. Around the object there is an iron fence with barbed wire. However, this does not stop stalkers or just curious people. According to statistics, in 2004, about 10 people entered the hospital, 6 of them were found dead. During the summer of 2006, 13 bodies were found.
In the building, people still disappear and die. There are over 1,500 applications for Umbrella at the local branch. Therefore, the chain of bodies found there does not stop.
Plans for an abandoned building
24 for years the neurological hospital (Khovrino) stood and beckoned extreme people. But in 2009, the entire complex of the unfinished hospital was transferred to the ownership of the city of Moscow. Property rights have been registered. In the same year, the question of the demolition of the building is raised. A certain investor agreed to demolish the hospital at his own expense, but in return he demanded the land on which the hospital was located. The Department of Property gave its consent, but the demolition of the object did not take place, since this investor disappeared under unclear circumstances.
Three years later, in 2012, the question of the demolition of the hospital again arisesand the construction of two new buildings in its place. In autumn, a land plot with an object was put up for auction at a very high price - 1 billion 800 million rubles. The building remained unredeemed.
