Always being up to date with the news is a dream for some. Due to ignorance, mistakes are made, unnecessary transactions are made. It's easy to get into a stupid position without knowing the information.
It is a professional duty for a journalist to know about what is happening, to tell others about important events as soon as possible. When nothing happens, it's quiet and calm around, you have to find the important in the unimportant, change public opinion. One of these people will be discussed today.
Sergey Lomakin is a journalist who is known not only in Russia, but also abroad. For many years he worked with Vladislav Listyev, Alexander Lyubimov and Evgeny Dodolev on the Vzglyad program. This TV show was quite popular, it was for the work on it that Sergei and his colleagues were nicknamed the “Beatles of perestroika.”
Correspondent, not researcher
Sergey Leonidovich Lomakin was born in 1952 in Moscow. His father Leonid Dmitrievich Lomakin is a military journalist, writer, author, albeit not classical, but world-famous books, beloved by many today. Obviously, the son also decided to follow in the footsteps of his father, but it so happened that he had to change his profession. It didn't take long before he ventured to declare his intention. His parents prophesied a different fate for him.
In 1974 he graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University (the first name was the Department of Economic Planning), and then postgraduate studies. However, during his long life, he never began to work in his speci alty. Today he is a journalist, director, TV presenter, writer, head of the Public TV division, producer.
In childhood, many write poetry. Someone is fond of sports or chess. When Sergei Lomakin became interested in journalism, no one knows. His first book, perhaps the only one, was published in 1997. It is said that Raisa Maksimovna Gorbacheva once called him the most handsome man on television. Today he enjoys car racing. At least that's what they say about him.
The facts about the biography of Sergei Lomakin reflect an internal conflict that has long been resolved. The knowledge and skills of an economist have repeatedly helped him in his work, planning his family and personal budget. The graduate student never became a professor, a doctor of economic sciences. A creative speci alty for the USSR, a bit strange from the point of view of the international economy, did not fit into his plans.
Career start
In 1975 he was hired by the Novosti press agency. He was assigned to dealinformation concerning foreign countries: Africa and the Middle East. He only worked there for two years. In 1977, on the advice of his neighbor Andrei Menshikov, he went to television, to the editorial office of projects for youth. Soon he was entrusted with the position of director, editor in the quiz show "Come on girls!".
The most successful TV project in history
In 1987 Lomakin Sergey took up another project, in which he was invited by his colleague Eduard Sagalaev, who is engaged in the Vzglyad program. Here he began working as a special correspondent. In 1990, he left the program. The prospect of occupying a niche on the new BND television channel, which his colleagues created, did not appeal. It seemed too risky, dubious. He decided to bet on work in the Main Editorial Office of Channel One information programs. Here he was offered the position of a commentator and presenter in the Vremya program.
Time to make dreams come true
In 1991, Sergey Lomakin left the position of the host and commentator of the Vremya program. It happened immediately after an interview with the acting president of the USSR Gennady Ivanovich Yanaev. Rumor has it that he was fired. However, after his abrupt departure, he immediately got a job in a new place, became the host of the Morning and Financial News programs
In 1995, there was a lull in the professional field of a journalist. In 1997, he returned to business again. Anatoly Lysenko invited him to the position of Deputy General Producer of TV Center-Stolitsa. After weighing all the pros and cons, he agreed, althoughunderstood perfectly well that a leadership position is a big responsibility.
In 1998, Sergei Lomakin was promoted to General Director of TV Center-Capital. And already in 1999, his author's program "Point of View" appeared on the screens.
In 2002 he worked as a presenter on M1. The new format did not embarrass, it became a valuable experience, another item on an impressive track record. Then he was the host in the projects "Kremlin Children", "Kremlin Funeral". Together with like-minded people, he founded TB "Country". In 2013, Sergei Leonidovich Lomakin was appointed director of the regional broadcasting of programs labeled "special project" of Public TV.
What the well-known journalist plans to do next is still unknown. Perhaps another book of his will be published. Today he devotes all his free time to car racing, to his wife, son, daughter, and, of course, to his beloved profession.
