A talented person manifests himself in different areas of life, he succeeds everywhere, and everything works out for him. But one cannot assume that everything is given to a person like a candy in a wrapper, no, of course. You just need to be able to use what is given to you by Nature. Figure skater Carolina Costner is an example.

Who is she - Princess Karo?

Carolina was born, as they say, in the right place and at the right time, which means she received a bonus - she became a real princess of blue ice. The family in which the girl was born in 1987 gave her a good heredity. Carolina was literally born into skating. Mom was engaged in figure skating and was the champion of Italy in ice dancing. Father and two brothers are hockey players, and Carolina's cousin, Isolde Kostner, is directly related to the winter sport. She is a skier, world champion and three-time Olympic medalist.

The example of parents and their dedication to their favorite work helped the girl to make her choice. He was in favor of women's single skating.

Sliding technique

Everyone who loves figure skating and follows the performances of figure skaters could not help but notice how Carolina Kostner glides on the ice. Her skating is extraordinary femininity, high speed and jumps, which the skater performs with unique grace. It has been noticed that only Carolina performs such elements of figure skating as spins and jumps in a clockwise direction. One of the few single skaters performs triple cascades of jumps. This is her style. For her charm, talent and gliding technique, Karolina is affectionately called Princess Caro.

As the figure skater says, she started figure skating at the age of four, mastering the basics of ice art. But the girl was no less interested in skiing. For some time, Carolina was engaged in skiing and skiing, while enjoying these activities. But at some point, Carolina realized that she was in love with figure skating and did not want to change her love.

From basics to triumphs

With coach Michael Huta, Carolina Kostner began training in Germany in 2001, where she moved to continue her studies at a senior educational school. In the same year, participation in the Italian Championship among juniors brought her the championship title, and at the World Championships she became the eleventh. In 2002, she takes tenth place, and in 2003 Carolina takes bronze.

Debuting at adult competitions in 2002-2003, the girl takes an honorable fourth place at the European Championships. The following year, she was fifth at the World Championships. World Championship inMoscow brought Carolina a bronze medal. The period from 2006 to 2008 was a bad season for Carolina. There were no expected results, plus there was an injury that did not allow him to take part in the Grand Prix and the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

In the 2011-2012 season, she shows her best results. Carolina Kostner wins World and European Championships. Good preparation for the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi allowed her, having worked out both programs without failures, to take third place and take a bronze medal. The figure skater receives the same award at the World Championships, which took place a month later.

Giving an interview to the press during the Olympic Games, Karolina expressed her gratitude to P&G, which took care of her mother, who came to support her daughter. P&G brand ambassadors included such famous athletes as Elena Ilyinykh, Oksana Domnina, Ivan Skobrev, Evgeni Malkin and Alexander Ovechkin. Carolina Kostner considers this an important and necessary thing.

So, Carolina and Stefan took part in September 2013 in an enchanting show in Verona, which combined opera music and figure skating. Here were all the skaters who were supposed to take part in the Olympic Games in Sochi. The Italians named their Princess Caro"godmother of the show". She showed two amazingly beautiful programs together with the Italian synchronized skating team.

I've been skating alone all my life, at my own pace, according to my mood. During the production of "Poem" I had to learn to work in pairs and in groups. Stefan is a wonderful partner and mentor, he worked with me so patiently that everything began to work out for me. But now I know for sure that my sport skating will change forever. I managed to open up, to feel my artistic abilities, to understand the music and partners (Caroline Kostner) more subtly.

In 2014-2015, the figure skater decided not to compete. I decided to take a break and think about whether to return to the sport or not. And a year later, when, having decided to return to the sport, she began to train, followed by a ridiculous disqualification from January 2016 for a year and four months due to the doping scandal of her boyfriend, athlete Alex Schwazer. Why did she get hurt? Because she allegedly assisted Alex in his use of illegal drugs…

Caroline Plans

What has Caroline been up to now? The young athlete has enough hobbies: sports, fashion, music, learning languages. She continued training with the famous coach Alexei Mishin. As the figure skater admits, during training in a group of real professionals, he helped her look at the world of figure skating from a different perspective.

I like what the dancers do on stage. They don't compete for medals. They dance because they like it, because they want somethingthen say this. This is how I would like to see figure skating in the future. So that it was not a fight with rivals and the constant need to prove that I am better than others. And the desire to become better, the desire to improve (Caroline Costner).

Working on artistry, ballet lessons, participation in the show, where she also revealed herself as a dramatic artist, help Carolina embody, with the help of a coach, what she has learned over the past three years. The athlete decided for herself that she had nothing to lose, and would be happy to compete at the Olympics in 2018, where she herself would be Carolina's main rival.
