As you know, the best leave too soon. Unfortunately, this statement did not bypass the talented young musician Sergei Osechkin. What happened to him, where the star of the Russian " alternative" is buried, the birth of "Amatori" and how the group lives today, we will consider in the article.
The formation of the alternative as a genre and its features
Alternative, as a branch of rock music, appeared relatively recently, only about 30 years ago. But in such a short time, this musical genre has established its own characteristics. Here, unlike metal, there are no hidden interline messages for the listener. The focus is primarily on music. The sound of an anguished bass guitar. And of course, the second component is the stage image: makeup, costumes, demeanor and performance.
The main idea of alternative as a genre is to protest against society and other musical styles.
Amatori
"Kino", "Alisa", "Aquarium" - all these bands were born here in Russia. But besides them, another one appeared - "Amatori". The title in English means"love". The official date of birth of the group is April 1, 2001. It was then that the first rehearsal took place, in which Sergey Gang Osechkin took part.
Sergey's short creative biography
Sergei Viktorovich Osechkin was born on August 8, 1983 in St. Petersburg. He was one of the first to see the future for the Russian alternative and its promise. It is difficult to overestimate his creative contribution in this direction.
Friends and relatives remember Sergei Osechkin as a creative person with extraordinary thinking and talent. This allowed him not only to act as a composer and author of arrangements for songs, but also to be an inspirer within the team, its leader.
In 2003, the group debuted with the album "Forever hiding fate." It included those tracks that were already known. They have been performed before in live concerts. Its presentation took place on December 12 in St. Petersburg. A little more than a week later, the musicians presented it in the capital.
In 2005, the second album was released, written with the active participation of Sergei Osechkin. It was called "Inevitability", and to some extent the name contained a prophetic meaning. It included 12 songs. It was in it that the track "Black and White Days" was located, which received the very cherished two awards.
Sergey worked on the album "The Book of the Dead". This is the last album in which he performed as a composer and guitarist. The album included 12 tracks. He came out in 2006year.
Although only three albums were released during the life of the musician, it was they who ensured the group's popularity and love of fans. Songs written with the participation of Sergei, gave the group not only respect and recognition, but also ensured its entry into the ranks of the star performers of Russian rock.
Death
Amatory guitarist Sergei Osechkin died on March 15, 2007 after a long and exhausting battle with illness. He was only 23 years old. The cause of death of Sergei Osechkin was cirrhosis of the liver. It should be noted that, despite the negative fame of the rockers, the musician led a he althy lifestyle and, according to colleagues, practically did not drink alcohol.
About the death of Sergei Osechkin, the fans of the band did not immediately learn. The message about it appeared only in 9 days. Relatives and relatives wanted this, and the Amatori musicians supported this decision. A farewell was organized for "their own".
The very news of Ganga's death was a shock. Simply because the members of the group carefully concealed this from the fans. There were several reasons for this: firstly, the musicians were afraid that the information would be perceived as a publicity stunt undertaken to increase their popularity. And the second reason is that the disease could be detected only when the point of no return was passed for Serezha. Official medicine admitted that it was already impossible to help him. This proves how strong he was, because the musician did not pretend that he was dying in front of his fans. Only at the very last stage, he was unable to support the team on a tour trip.
His early departure prevented the full expression of his creative potential, both personally as a composer and as part of a band. The Russian alternative has lost its soul.
Single
After Serezha's death, the group recorded a single dedicated to him. The name forever immortalized the date of the death of the musician "15.03". Text and music - in this work, everything is at the highest level. It's not just saying goodbye to a person. Together with Sergey Osechkin, a part of the group left, namely its unique sound.
In June 2007, a concert was held in memory of Sergei. It was attended by St. Petersburg rock bands, including:
- "Stigmata".
- "Jane Eyre".
- "Origami".
Amatori's life after Sergey's death
Despite the grief, the musicians found the strength to live on and continue what Sergey put his heart into. Dmitry Rubanovsky was invited to replace the deceased friend, with whom two albums were recorded. In 2005, they won the title of group of the year. In the same year, the annual Russian award in the field of rock music gave the song "Black and White Days" two prizes at once in the nominations "Song of the Year", as well as "Clip of the Year". The composition of the group changed several times. Later, in 2009, the group again took the award in the "Hit of the Year" nomination for the creation "Breathe with me". This song fell in love even with those who are not very interested in the team. Today the musicians have 6 full-length albums.
Through the eyes of the fans and the band
Fans of "Amatori" remember Sergei Osechkin as a talented guitarist. He was a cheerful and bright person, an extraordinary personality. His life ended too soon, he could have written many more good strong lyrics and amazing music. A few days after his death, a farewell video appeared on the band's official YouTube channel.
Burial place
Sergey Osechkin's photo now adorns not a poster, but a grave monument. The musician is buried in St. Petersburg. The burial place is located in the area of the 46th section of the cemetery, in memory of the victims of 1905. The road leading to the grave is located almost opposite the bus stop from Dunaevsky Prospekt.
Despite the fact that Sergey Osechkin's life ended so early, he will forever be remembered by fans of Russian rock. In conclusion, we present the single that was recorded in his honor.
Note that reviews of "15.03" say that he touched the hearts of even those who were not fans of the band, the text turned out to be so heartfelt. In memory of Ganges, Fourth Dimension recorded the track "Dreams".
