Description
Representatives of this type of mushroom are found mainly on dead wood of deciduous trees. Often they can be found on old stumps near the soil surface. The dense kidney-shaped cap is covered with a shiny wavy skin, on which concentric growth rings are clearly visible, differing in shade from each other. It wasn't until 1972 that a Japanese farmer managed to cultivate the mushroom and grow it on his farm. Since that time, it has been used for the production of medicines.
Today, the pharmaceutical market offers a huge number of drugs based on Chinese tinder fungus, which is grown on special artificial plantations on an industrial scale.
In Russia, this mushroom is also popular. It is widely used in folk medicine, where it is also known as the longevity mushroom, or sacred mushroom.
Distribution locations
It is also found in our country varnished tinder fungus. Where this mushroom grows in Russia is well known to people involved in healing. Most often it is collected in the southern regions - in the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, in the North Caucasus. It is less common intemperate latitudes.
