Kost Bondarenko is a political analyst, historian, candidate of sciences, head of the institute and editor-in-chief of a political newspaper. Konstantin's childhood
Little Kostya was born on 1969-02-05 in a small village in the Vinnitsa region in an intelligent family. Konstantin's parents were teachers. When the child was 8 months old, the family moved to Kazakhstan, where Kost Bondarenko began his studies at school. Parents paid great attention to the education of their son, his mother taught him to read and write even before entering grade 1.
At the age of 8, Kost Bondarenko and his family returned to Ukraine in the Cherkasy region. Parents received a house in the village. Palanka, Uman district, and sent Kostya to a local school.
The boy studied very well, had high performance in all subjects. Kost Bondarenko showed particular interest in literature and history. In 1986, being a senior student, he took part in the Republican competition "Solar clarinets", preparing a poetic translation into Ukrainian of "The Tale of Igor's Campaign". The jury of the competition highly appreciated the work of the young man, and he became the laureate of this award. Graduated from school with a gold medal.
Education and military service
In 1986, Kost Bondarenko went to Chernivtsi, applied to the local state university named after Y. Fedkovich. Having successfully passed the exams, Bondarenko was enrolled in the Faculty of History. After studying at the university for only a year, Kost was forced to interrupt his education due to conscription. The service of a young soldier took place in the Turkestan military district, where Kost Bondarenko learned the basics of strategic aviation.
After demobilization from the army in 1990, Kost decided to move to Lvov. He transferred to Leningrad State University named after Ivan Franko. In 1994, Kost Bondarenko successfully graduated from the Faculty of History of Leningrad State University. I. Franko majoring in History of International Relations.
Career start
Life in historical Lviv required considerable financial expenses. Therefore, student Bondarenko skillfully combined education at the university and work. For quite a long time he worked in the Lviv branch of the Institute of Ukrainian Archeography and Source Studies named after. Hrushevsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. His immediate supervisor and mentor was Professor Yaroslav Dashkevich.
Working on his Ph. D. thesis, Konstantin Bondarenko worked inarchives not only of the Ukrainian cities of Lvov and Kyiv. He also worked in Minsk, Moscow and Warsaw, studying nationalist organizations. In 1997, Konstantin successfully defended his thesis, became a candidate of historical sciences, after which he was invited to work at the Lviv Polytechnic University.
Student activity and first arrest
Even after returning from the army, Kost took up social and political activities in Chernivtsi. He joined the People's Movement of Ukraine. Then he became a member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Union.
Kost Bondarenko managed to become an active member of the Ukrainian Student Union within a year, and soon joined the presidium of the Union of Ukrainian Youth in Bukovina. He actively participated in rallies and student demonstrations. For participating in one of these rallies in October 1989, among the activists, he was taken under arrest by the Chernivtsi police, which became a turning point in the biography of Kostya Bondarenko and his mind.
This event caused a wave of student protests. Komsomol organization together with the leadership of the University. Yu. Fedkovich initiated the first student strike in the USSR, which lasted 3 days. As a result, Kost Bondarenko and other activists were released from detention.
Political activities
In Lviv, Kost Bondarenko continued to take an active public position. He combined his work at the Polytechnic University with scientific work and participation in socio-political organizations. Bondarenko stood at the origins of the Lviv Center"Nova Khvilya", engaged in political research. In a fairly short period of time, the political scientist changed many parties, participated in various political projects and movements.
From 1997 to 1999 he was the head of the analytical department of the Lviv regional organization of the NDP. From 1999 to 2001, he held a similar position in the Reform and Order party. In different years he was a member of the Lytvyn bloc, the civil movement "It's time"; public councils under the President, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In October 2002, Konstantin Bondarenko was appointed director of the Expert Center, which was engaged in the study of social processes.
In 2002, he was a consultant to Viktor Yushchenko's bloc in the elections. And 2 years later, he supported E. Prutnik and Z. Kulik in the presidential race.
Until 2005, Kost headed the Institute for National Strategy.
In 2006-2007, the political scientist served as an adviser to the Ministry.
In March 2008 he received the position of freelance adviser to Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
In 2010-2011 he continued his political career as deputy to S. Tigipko, which he left due to disagreement to unite with the Party of Regions.
In 2011, Kost Bondarenko became the head of the Ukrainian Policy Institute.
Bibliography
All this time, Kost Bondarenko actively collaborated with newspapers and magazines. He was the head of the political department of the Postup newspaper. Published inperiodicals "Mirror of the Week", "Facts and Comments". The political scientist published his articles in the online publications Ukrayinska Pravda and Obozrevatel.
Bondarenko initiated the creation of a political program on Public Radio and was its host for a long time.
Today, a political analyst conducts a stormy public activity, sharply and fearlessly commenting on the activities of the authorities in his blog. Kost Bondarenko is rightfully considered a living legend of modern political science. He regularly writes articles for periodicals.
Also, the political scientist is working on the release of his own books. Kost Bondarenko is the author of incriminating works about the political life of L. Kuchma, Y. Tymoshenko, V. Yushchenko and other contemporary politicians.
