This is the largest international organization that covers many spheres of human life. At the same time, this organization includes 188 countries of the world. During the existence of the UN, seven people managed to visit the post of Secretary General. Among them: Trygve Li, Dag Hammarskjöld, U Thant, Kurt W altheim, Javier Perez de Cuellar, Boutros Boutros-Ghali. Then the post of UN Secretary General was headed by Kofi Annan. He remained in his post until 2007, and this was the UN Secretary General before Ban Ki-moon. Now, at the time of 2016, Ban Ki-moon holds the post of chairman.

Various countries were able to provide their representatives for the post of General Secretary. These were also the countries of Europe - Norway, Sweden, Austria and a number of other countries of more remote territories. This is Burma, Peru, Egypt, Ghana.

At the moment, Ban Ki-moon holds such a high-ranking position. His duties include the implementation of the basic order of work, and his rights are prescribed in the statutory order.

This charter obliges the Secretary General to submit to the UN bodies any questions that, in his opinion, are of utmost importance. These are issues of preventing global conflicts, as well as maintaining global security. The concept of the Secretary General is that he is the voice of the international community, which is designed to prevent the escalation and growth of conflicts.

Since Ban Ki-moon is a representative of the world community, which includes about 188 states, he should be as flexible as possible, as well asloyal. He needs this in order to coordinate various issues with completely different representatives of countries that carry the peculiarities of their mentality and worldview.

The purpose of these trips is to improve the living standards of the population. Every year, Ban Ki-moon is required to submit a report. This report should highlight existing problems, as well as obstacles to the work of the UN. He evaluates the work done and gives his opinion on what needs to be changed and how to prioritize all sorts of things.

The five governing bodies of the UN

The UN consists of five main governing bodies - the General Assembly, the Security Council,International Court of Justice, Secretariat, Economic and Social Council. The first body, the General Assembly, is the cumulative representative body. It was created in order to hold meetings of all members of this association. The Security Council consists of 15 members. Five members of this association are permanent. They include the US, UK, France, China and, of course, the Russian Federation. In addition, there are 10 non-permanent members elected in accordance with the statutory procedure for a period of 2 years.

The third body, the International Court of Justice, is made up of 15 independent judges. These can be completely different people, but they must have deep legal knowledge of international law. They are elected every 9 years with the right to re-election. The Economic and Social Council of the United Nations is responsible for coordinating economic activities, as well as international cooperation and trade. The Secretariat is the body that is responsible for servicing all the other organs of the UN. Among other things, it has an important function of implementing all decisions made, as well as recommendations.
