Her father, Zaur Abdullin, graduated from the conservatory in Moscow and worked as a soloist in the opera, performing leading roles. They were known throughout Kazakhstan as the Abdullins brothers and became the founders of opera art in the country.
Childhood
Karina Abdullina started singing from the age of four. Not a single matinee in kindergarten was complete without her participation. When the girl was still small, her parents divorced. Karina was raised by her mother, it was she who sent her at the age of six to a special music school named after KulyashBaiseitova. The girl studied piano, and her first teacher was Vladimir Tebenikhin. After his tragic death, Karina's teacher was Nurlan Izmailov, an assistant professor at the conservatory, in whose class she successfully graduated from high school, and later from the conservatory.
Karina Abdullina was a naughty student, although talented. She always aspired to "change the world", she was a leader among her peers and said what she thought in her eyes. She was often discussed at teachers' councils for such behavior, and her mother was called to school. The girl dreamed of becoming an international journalist in the future, despite the fact that she studied at an elite musical institution, where the student's future was predetermined by the very specialization. Karina wrote notes and stories, and then sent them to various publications. Her work was not published, but this did not stop the girl.
The beginning of a musical career
From the age of thirteen, Karina Abdullina began to sing at the Kvant VIA at the Palace of Schoolchildren and Pioneers. The head of the ensemble, being a professional musician, immediately saw the talent in the girl. Karina sang well and mastered the instrument, composed poetry and music, memorized the lyrics of all the songs and even tried to connect the equipment herself.
The girl earned her first money by performing popular songs and playing keyboards at a wedding, where the enterprising head of Kvant took her with him. They began to perform together at various events every weekend. Soon, Karina's income increased, and by the age of sixteen she was already buying herselffood, clothes and sometimes even paid rent.
The girl, despite the tight schedule, studied well and managed to participate in piano competitions, where she became a diploma winner and a laureate. Dreams of a career as a journalist were gradually losing relevance.
Musical
Karina Abdullina was already known to many Alma-Ata musicians by the age of seventeen. From somewhere, the already popular guitarist and composer Bulat Syzdykov, who worked in Moscow with many artists, learned about the talented girl from somewhere. He created a group, and he needed a girl to sing along. Bulat listened to Karina and realized that he was looking for just such a singer. Later, the group, called by Syzdykov "Musicola", was transformed into a duet. Karina and Bulat started working together, experimenting and looking for their own style.
In 1994, the girl became a participant in the then popular Moscow competition for young performers "Morning Star". She brilliantly went through several tours and won the Grand Prix, which neither before nor after any Kazakhstani performer could do.
Simultaneously with her work at the Musical, Karina Abdullina studied at the piano department of the Conservatory, acted as a pianist and accompanist. After graduating from the conservatory in 1998, the girl became a truly professional musician.
