History of Creation

The creation of the Republican Party in the United States took place on February 28, 1854. In the city of Ripon (Wisconsin), a merger of two political organizations took place. It was the Free Land Party and the Whig Conscience faction.

Organizations united as opponents of slavery. Representatives of the new political force reflected the interests of the industrialists of the northern part of the United States. They became a serious counterbalance to the Democratic Party, which relied on the planters and slave owners of the South.

Having come to power in the North, they advocated the abolition of slavery and began distributing "free" land to everyone. By "free" was meant the land on which the Indians lived, but no one took them into account.

During the Civil War, the causes of which are largely related to the confrontation between the economically developed North and the undeveloped South, planterswhich was used for the work of slaves from Africa, the Republicans came to power.

They were in the lead in the presidential and parliamentary elections for almost 50 years until 1912. At this time, a split occurs in the RP and the Progressive Party of Theodore Roosevelt leaves it. Democratic forces will control US political life with short breaks until 1968.

The decline of the Republic of Poland is associated with the resignation of President Richard Nixon in the mid-70s of the twentieth century. A few years later, everything changed. Further development is connected with the activities of President Ronald Reagan. In his time, the party was updated.

Any organization has symbols that are appropriate to use during the election campaign. The Republican Party (USA) considers the elephant as such a symbol. The Republicans are moderately right-wing in political orientation. The main goals of the US Republican Party:

• reducing taxes, government spending on education and medicine, the country's budget deficit;
• increased spending on national security and armaments;
• fight in favor of morality, national and family values;

• limiting abortion;
• opposition to increase the minimum wage, research into cloning, the introduction of euthanasia, the creation of trade unions in non-state enterprises;
• pursuing a more aggressive foreign policy.

According to the Republicans, it is necessary to minimize the participation of the government in the economy. At the same time, they act with restrictions in the lives of many people. So they are in favor of limiting abortion, same-sex marriage, pornography, prostitution. Interesting is the conviction of the Republic of Poland that the fight against global warming is supported by the Democrats for the sake of propaganda of their own forces. Any measures to protect the environment, in their opinion, should be put on the backburner if it hinders business development.

First Republican President

Abraham Lincoln is considered the first President of the Republican Party. His name is forever associated with the abolition of slavery in the United States.

He grew up in an impoverished farming family, early began to earn manual labor. He attended school for no more than a year, but that was enough to engage in further self-education.

After meeting with the justice of the peace, Lincoln became interested in law. He tried himself in various positions - from the captain in the militia against the Indians to the surveyor. Finally, at age 26, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly (Illinois). He joined the Whigs.

A year later, Lincoln passed the exam and became a lawyer. He practiced law for 23 years.

In 1856, Abraham Lincoln joined the Republican Party, which opposed slavery. He believed that each state should decide this issue for itself, but he was against the spread of slavery throughout the country. Due to his moderate views on slavery, he was nominated as a presidential candidate in the 1860 election. The Republican and Democratic parties of the United States have nominated their candidates.

Lincoln's victory was primarily due to the support of the North, as well as a split in the Democratic Party.

His reign is associated withthe subsequent Civil War between the North and the South, which ended with the adoption of the 13th amendment to the US Constitution to abolish slavery in the country.

Lincoln was shot in the head in 1865. His tragic death contributed to the fact that an aura of a martyr was created around his name, who, at the cost of his own life, reunited the country and freed the slaves.

Dwight Eisenhower

34th President was a statesman and military figure. After leaving school, Dwight Eisenhower studied at the military academy. In political activities, he often quoted Abraham Lincoln. Once he even drew a portrait of his beloved president.

During the opening of the Second Front in 1944, Eisenhower was appointed Supreme Commander of the Expeditionary Force. After the war, he continued friendly relations with Marshal Zhukov.

Dwight Eisenhower began to run for president instead of Nixon, who was accused of corruption. This was a strong blow to the Republicans. With his activities, he was supposed to correct the situation.

When he came to power, he could:

• end the unpopular war in Korea;
• stop leftist persecution;
• organize the construction of the Interstate Highway System.

After finishing his presidential term, he retired from politics.

Ronald Reagan

Famous actor, radio host and 40th President of the United States was born into a family that constantly moved. After high school, he entered college at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology. From his studies, he was interested in social life and sports.

His career began in 1932, when he was a radio sportscaster. Five years later, he signed a contract with Warner Bros. as an actor. His film career consists of 54 feature films.

Being an actor, he collaborated with the FBI. His task was to report on those workers who sympathize with the communists.

In political life, Reagan was originally a Democrat, he admired the activities of Franklin Roosevelt. However, over time, his views changed. In subsequent presidential campaigns, he supported Dwight Eisenhower and Richard Nixon.

He described his views in speeches on his own. Thanks to his charisma, in 1966 he was nominated for governor of California. In 1970 he was re-elected for a second term. During this time, his views as a politician were finally formed, he became a supporter of state non-intervention in the economy.

He made his attempt to become president in 1976. In this he was supported by the Republican Party of the United States. After becoming president, he lasted two terms. His policy was called "Reaganomics".

George Bush

The 43rd President of the United States was the son of President George H. W. Bush. Therefore itoften referred to as George W. Bush.
