He went to Nicholas School in Buffalo, New York. He graduated in 1984, after which he entered the Academy of Foreign Service. There he studied from 1985 to 1989. The academy belonged to Georgetown University. It was there that Lee Matthew received a bachelor's degree in the now popular speci alty of international relations.

The early years

After graduating from the academy, he began working for newspapers such as the Daily Progress and the Washington Post. Then, in 1994, he decided to move to Cambodia. There, Lee Matthew became a freelance reporter for a newspaper calledCambodia Daily. In parallel, he worked for several other media outlets. Among them are the Economist magazine, the Far East Economic Review, Time, and the United Press International, Reuters, and Associated Press news agencies. In addition to print editions, Matthew Lee, whose biography is quite rich and interesting, was a television worker. In the famous American corporations BBC and CNN, he also worked. After only a year (in 1995), he became the head of such an agency as France Presse.

Matthew Lee is a journalist with a rich career. After settling in Agence France-Presse, he became involved in covering the death of Pol Pot and the case of the collapse of the Khmer Rouge movement. Then he was even wounded in the left arm. It happened in 1997, on June 17th. This situation happened at the time of clashes between supporters of Norodom Ranarit and Hun Sen.

In 1999 he was transferred to Washington. There, Lee Matthew began working as a correspondent for the Agence France Presse, but only in the one that was subordinate to the US State Department. For example, at the end of 2010, he demanded the release of a Palestinian activist who was the head of the movement in the village of Bilyin, who opposed the construction of a wall near this village, protecting the inhabitants of the area from their own farmland. This man was then imprisoned in an Israeli prison. The journalist did not wait for clear answers. And when once again I heard that “the United States is closely monitoring this situation”, he was indignant, why not speak specifically about the accused citizen who does not practice any violence, but simply stands up for his own and others' rights. Then Philip Weiss, another American correspondent, said that Matt in this situation is a person who shows ordinary human participation, while risking his professional career. But in essence, Matt thus reminded everyone what a real journalist should be.

Eternal opponent Jennifer Psaki

What else can you say about Matthew Lee? The journalist, whose biography was reviewed above, is known as a constant opponent of Jennifer Psaki. One of the most striking examples of the dispute is when, in 2014, Matt askedher to explain some of the terms she used in the process of discussing the situation prevailing in Ukraine. Naturally, Psaki could not do this, just as she could not confirm the authority of the sources used. In fact, she said that she did not understand what she was talking about. Jen stated that she simply read the written text and was not even familiar with the terms used. Naturally, this showed her far from the best side.
