At the age of 36, Russian businessman and functionary Roman Rotenberg has achieved considerable heights both in business and in sports. Roman Borisovich holds the position of Vice-President of Gazprombank, owns a sports nutrition business, but he enjoys his hobby, which has partly become a profession. A boy named Roman was born in the spring of 1981 in Leningrad into the family of a well-known entrepreneur, and after that a professional judo coach Boris Romanovich Rotenberg and Irina Kharanen, who had Finnish roots in the family. In 1991, the family immigrated to Helsinki, where Roman studied English and Finnish, and also, at the insistence of his father, began to practice judo. However, by the time he graduated from school, the guy was already head over heels in love with hockey and planned to connect his life with this sport.

Roman's parents separated inthe end of the last century, and the guy himself, having reached the age of majority, went to London, where he received an education in the direction of international business.

In 2005, Roman Rotenberg returned to Russia. He successfully passed an interview at Gazprom Export, and later personally met its CEO Alexander Medvedev, who is also a staunch hockey fan. Since 2009, the Russian functionary began his journey to the top of the top management of Gazprombank, of which he is the vice president to this day.

Lifelong Hobbies

Over the years, the passion for hockey has grown from a simple hobby into another activity of Roman Rotenberg and, to a certain extent, has become the meaning of his whole life. In 2007, a Russian businessman became deputy general director of a new project called the Kontinental Hockey League.

In 2011, Roman Rotenberg accepted an offer to take the position of vice president at the St. Petersburg hockey club SKA. At the end of 2014, the functionary became vice president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation. Today he leads the headquarters of the national hockey team of the country. In the same position, in 2016, Rotenberg was awarded by the President of Russia for his contribution to the development of domestic hockey.

Roman Borisovich Rotenberg is the founder of Doctor Sport, a company specializing in the production of sports nutrition. According to media reports, the company broke even just a year after opening, and in 2015 its network consisted of more than 50 stores.throughout Russia. Among other things, Doctor Sport is a sponsor of the SKA hockey club.

It is known that in 2016 the investment group headed by Rotenberg was among the applicants for the acquisition of the Telesport marketing agency, but later the Russian businessman abandoned this idea.

Currently, negotiations are underway regarding the purchase by Rotenberg of the Rossport sewing and printing production, which produces equipment for HC SKA and other sports clubs.

Activities in Finland

Roman Rotenberg, together with another well-known Russian businessman Gennady Timchenko, are co-owners of the Hartavall ice arena built in Helsinki. Also, businessmen from Russia own half of the rights to the Finnish hockey club Jokerit. The latter, by the way, has been playing in the same Continental Hockey League since 2014.

In 2010, Rotenberg announced his marriage to Marta Berzkalnaya, a Latvian top model. The love story of Roman and Marta appeared in the popular publication Tatler, and after a short time the couple went down the aisle. However, despite numerous jointinterviews and photo shoots, during which the young radiated happiness and love, this marriage did not last long. Martha went to live in the United States, being five months pregnant and tired of fighting her husband's popularity among his admirers.

The couple have been living in a civil marriage since 2012, however, this did not prevent them from having two children (Arina - born in 2013 and Roman - born in 2015).
